I would like your opinion...Has anyone seen or bought the 91 Mansell Williams by Minichamps...I saw one in Gamesworld Northland and was suprised to notice that you could inspect the engine...can anyone who has bought or seen it confirm its quality, detail etc...I was very tempted to buy but wihtout seeing how it looked I was a bit reluctant...
Cheers

If you like the minichamps quality then get it.........
To me the minichamps are a bit poor quality wise.

I have the minichamps Senna Taxi Williams and am very happy with it. I think minichamps quality is fine. If exoto can get their detail right I'll get the Mansell 92 car as well.

With the minichamps the decals are not very good and things like painted seatbelts and no helmet visors are dissapointing.
Also the paint quality is not that good, but then again if you want to spend less go for the minichamps.
Wayno, what don't you like about the exoto detail?

The fact the German gp Williams has the wrong rear wing on it!

I just checked autocourse and you are right, the wing was longer.
Any other exoto errors you've spotted?

I had that one pointed out to me. emailed exoto with no response. I understand mistakes happen, but when there is a shot of the real car on the same page as the model on the exoto website (in which you can plainly see the low drag wing) then I think it's a bit much!

I was suprised & curious that minichamps have moved to showing engine detail and is a bit the unknown for me that stops me buying this one
Does anyone know if Minichamps are planning to
bring out the 92 Mansell Championship version??
Exoto might be better quality but not sure about the
price.
Was tempted (@ only $140) to get the described
model but prefer the championship version.

retailed for $120 at place where I saw it...champ version would be great... but for me the question "what you pay is what you get" is what I like to establish wiht this direction Minichamps is taking

I've heard that MC will be releasing the 92 version; though w/ their long delays who knows when. Also heard that Exoto will be releasing another version of the Mansell 92 car; this time the correct version ;) again unsure when that will be released

I have every 1/18 F1 Minichamps and a fair few do have a removable engine lid.
To state Minichamps output poor is a very personal oppinion.
They have had a very large coverage of the F1 field and their detail has satisfied me, hence the continued purchases and, in my personal oppinion, very nice and complete F1 collection

And the 91 is a champion car technically if you get the Senna taxi version. ;)

Minichamps must have some problems as there is all sorts of new releases on Ebay all over the world,
Even here in good old Australia, there is the new model of the BMW M.C. 1100 already for sale, never mind the Taxi, the Kingy 1000 kwaka, the figurines and the list goes on.
