View Full Version : 1979 Repco trial cars
Will any cars from the 79 Repco trial be made because this event was the Commodores first ever victory and can be part of the Brock Collection.
Brocks #05 Repco trial VB commodore is located at the Birdwood museam in the Adelaide hills for measurement and photographing purposes.
I also did notice an ad for Bonds Cortina from the 79 repco trial in a Unique cars issue with a shot of Moffs mustang and Pete Geoghagans super falcon on the front going for $12 500.
Also Dunkertons Volvo would finish the bill.

If memory serves me correct, weren't the Repco Rally Commodores sporting Marlboro livery?
If this is the case, then any model would look incomplete, as would the Marlboro Holden Dealer Team track racers, and therefore, unlikely to be modelled due to the Tobacco advertising rules.

Absolutely right, unfortunately. I have seen SOME Commodores & Toranas modelled but without the offending "Marlboro" wording. These annoying laws are why we can't have any models of MHDT cars, or cars like Gricey's "Craven Mild" Toranas which I've always thought looked great.

For most of the trial these cars were covered in mud and few of the sponsors were recognisable. If Biante modelled the car coverd in mud rather than its presentation state you wouldn't have to worry about the offending M word.
