Saw a poster of Colin Bond in an HDT XU1 - Number 37C, same as the '71 Bathurst car but grey on the sides and roof instead of white.

Can anyone confirm the year this car was raced?

Somewhere between 1970 and 1972.

There is nothing in the picture that indicates the track or anything else that might be a clue.

37c was first raced by bond during south pacific touring car series which followed the tasman series (f5000 cars) in 1972. the cars were later in the year painted what could now be called the new hdt colours i think brock raced as no 36c for these races

There is a picture in the book "Peter Brock - Ironbark Legends" on page 7, that has PB in a number 47C XU-1 with silver/grey sides, black bonnet, and yellow sunvisor/tape on windscreen and what looks to be three yellow stripes about20cm across each, from side to side across the roof. Looks quite good actually.

Interesting book this, also has his HR sedan and EJ Panel van rallycross cars (and obviously a hole heaps of others! LOL).

Thanks for that - should put this under 'what makes you happy' - being able to put questions on the forum and know someone out ther will have the answer.

It wasn't unusual for a driver's car to carry more than one race number during an ATCC season in 'the old days'.

Here's a pic of Bondy in the silver grey metallic LJ Torana GTR XU-1 as it ran at the Warwick Farm round of the 1972 ATCC - note the racing number in this image is 36C.
