Dicks 83 top 10 car-where is it?

I read in a 1983 issue of racing car australia(Bathurst issue) a story in regards to DJ's top 10 wreck.
The Johnson crew put it on a trailer on the back of thier transporter and somewere in rural NSW the trailer came off and the wreck is still missing to this day.
Some Mad Max enthusiasts in Broken Hill recently found the Mad Max intercepter from film 1 and displayed it at Bathurst.

i know that the bonnet was kept by one of the tafe team teachers.
and he had told me that dick had offered him heaps to buy it back.

I worked in a wrecking yard in the mid 80's and my boss had a piece of the car it was in resin & had a plague. apparently the wreck was taken to a scrap yard in Brisbane & put though a shredder the pieces put in resin & sold. I haven't seen one for years.

Mechanicals were put into Car 9 and if take your razor outside, throw it at a tree and it sticks to it. Well you know your shaving with it.

I have been to DJR's and I remember seeing a door that I believed belonged to the Green XE as it has the channel 7 rainbow on it.

The rest of the car as said was scrapped and made into a paper weight as a promotional gimmick for a new scrap metal company.

I did see two on ebay a long time ago and they only went for around $25.00 or so, I regret not getting one now.
