gateway models have a Peter Brock GTR XU-1 28C for $1000. If anybody pays that for this model they have to be of there rocker.

I would rather pay 1G for this than 3 or 4G for other models. Just my personal opinion of course:rolleyes:

Why pay 1G when you can possibly get it cheaper off ebay, thats all I was refering to. When you mention 3 or 4G's for models are you refering to the brock birthday car?

What I am refering to is that IMO it is a more significant car than "other" models out there. Doesnt bother me as i paid RRP years ago. Not saying it is a bargain, far from it.As for if i am refering to the birthday model, read between the lines, but each to their own, I guess;)

I've filled a few gaps in my collection from Gateways, got the models at the "right" price(what I was prepared to pay) and found the staff very helpful,no complaints here!:D
Same here Footy.
I think a model is worth what U want to pay for it and how much it's worth 2 u. My friends think Im mad coz I spent $375 on the 78 A9X but it was worth every penny, that car had historical value to me and my family

Sherriff's in Sydney were trying to sell one at the Motor Show in October for the same price. Don't know if it went though.

It might seem steep, but if you had every Brock model except one and could afford the price are you telling me you wouldn't think about it?

This might be comparing apples to oranges, but I have every Bathurst winner except the '92 and could afford the asking price, but no way would I pay what people are asking ... let alone the premium Gateway adds to their offerings. Wouldn't even think about it.

Considering he found a box of them about 14 months ago he will make a tidy profit.

Interesting how his lax inventory control methods always seem to result in a profit.

I've bought quite a few items off Gateway and have always been very happy with the service (both by post and in the shop itself).
I'm there for what I want at the right price - not for conversation.

I Wonder if the soon to be released 1/18 Brock Porsche will fetch close to this price soon ($1000) THe 1/43 version was demanding very good money not long after release. WIth only 2500 1/18s made and the last of the Brock collection with a signed certificate, who knows?

He does'nt talk much does he.:D The service can not be questioned though. I recently bought a Moffat Capri from him, Owen isn't it? Anyway the car was ordered at 4pm QLD time on a Wednesday and arrived at my doorstep 7:30 Friday morning. Seeing as I live in the South of WA thats bloody quick. $12 for postage, Hell I can't get stuff from Perth that quick and at that price.;)

My guess is that the first one will hit ebay 48 hours after release with a start price of $450.

... or he took someone's offer at a price below $1000 ... or he simply pulled it from the site again, hoping prices will increase.
I'll use Gateway for my insurance valuation, but I won't them as a gauge for current SELLING prices.
