Saw a excellent TV show on 7 this morning called Super Speedway. It was an imax production about Mario and Michael Andretti.
Wondering what other shows of interest have been on TV lately:confused:

Yeah ive been watching this series on Foxtel, Austar on the Discovery channel. I'ts called the Deadlest Season. I'ts all about the crab fisherman in Alaska. Talk about pushing yourself to the limit of fishing and death. Worth a look if you have pay and into that type of thing

i have seen that at a mates house bout a month ago. Plenty of deaths in that game, but they can earn a years salary in just a few days if they strike it good. Absolute mad men working in treacherous seas!

massive seas, the episode i saw it was 5mts. Aswell as that the water is almost freezing, if they dont have survival suits on and fall in, they die within minutes! They all do this fishing with little or no sleep, its not unusual for a 48 or 72 hour fish, it depends on how long the season lasts (3days on the above episode). There is also the chance of being squashed by a flying crab trap (200kg) if the crane driver isnt up to scratch!!

my wife is watching all sorts of garbage from the desperate bimbos in bikinis who want to snag a rich guy (Bachelor) to townie women who wanna live the life of luxury and are not happy with their own life (Australia Princess) as well as American hip hop grunge Bandstand (So you think you can dance). Yawn Yawn....:>There really is nothing worthwhile on the idiot box........

There are so many good shows here in the US if you discount the mindless drivel that is reality TV.

"Family Guy", "American Dad", "Prison Break", "24" on FOX, "Lost" on ABC, and "The Shield" on FX

During the summer, one gets "Entourage" on HBO, "Rescue Me" on FX, and "Its Always Sunny in Philadelphia" on FX.

For sci-fi fans there is "Battlestar Gallactica" on Sci-Fi and Smallville on CW.

However, right now I spend most of time watching SpeedTV since for a few weeks between November and January one gets to watch decent racing from FIA GT to V8Supercars instead of endless reporting on merry go round France family show.

Sergey

There's a new sitcom on Channel 9 on Wednesday's at 8.00 with Brad Garrett (ie: Robbie from Eerybody Loves Raymond).

Can't say its must-see TV but it did at least make me laugh.

I watched the whole of the last series. It sounds boring, a bunch of blokes fishing, but with Massive storms, 20m waves and the thrill of chasing the 'mother load' of crabs it makes for some fantastic TV.

I think/Hope there is a new series out soon.

"That 70's show" has been on for a couple of weeks now at 7pm weeknights. The Mrs loves it and its good for a laugh and occasional perve.

I usually avoid Channel 9 like the plague, but I must admit, Weeds, is one of the funniest shows I have seen for while.

Did it run for 13 weeks?

I didn't watch it but remember when it started. I saw the ads for later episodes a few times then the next one I rmemeber was for the season finale.

A current thing for sations dropping shows that don't rate is to run the last episode they show as a 'season finale.'

Then the show drops off the face of the planet.

I had to laugh when JAG came back on and the in-laws (who we are "boarding" with at the mo) got excited. It went for 2 weeks the announced the second last episode. Must have found them on the dunny floor and needed to fill a spot.:D

I must admit I found it funny that it got a run in the states given how much the networks fear upsetting the various religious groups, & not just because of the drugs. There is plenty that is worse in it.
Very funny though.

Pretty much only free on air networks like NBC, ABC, FOX, and CW get scrutinized. The oversight is much more relaxed on basic cable, to say nothing of premium channels like HBO and Showtime, which air recently canceled Deadwood and still running strong Weeds respectfully.

However, I have to say that FOX channel has been pushing envelope with such shows as American Dad into cable territory.

Sergey

I think that's how FOX established itself in the early days - running some of the 'alternative shows.'

Even classics like The Simpsons and Married With Children were picked up on FOX because none of the free to air networks wanted them.

I'm glad to hear Weeds is still running strong. Unfortunately though I'd be surprised if Channel 9 ran with it when ratings return being the boring safe channel that they are.

Did anyone catch a show called Extreme Force or similar ???

It was on the ABC on a Monday night (10.30ish) & was about the British special forces....I think I caught the final episode of the series, but it was a really good drama
