It is good to see that Channel 7 has been willing to pickup the coverage for this event.

SATURDAY, NOVEMBER 16: 3.30 pm – 5.00 pm (Sydney, Melbourne)
2.30 pm – 4.00 pm (Brisbane)
3.00 pm – 4.30 pm (Adelaide)
12.30 pm – 2.00 pm (Perth)

SUNDAY, NOVEMBER 17: 2.30 pm – 4.30 pm (Sydney, Melbourne)
1.30 pm – 3.30 pm (Brisbane)
2.00 pm – 4.00 pm (Adelaide)
11.30 am – 1.30 pm (Perth)

A shame it could not be longer.

It hardly seems worth tuning in for one television session of 90 minutes one day and another of two hours the following day, when the event is of an overall duration six times that amount.

I suppose we'll see the first hour or so followed by a highlights package, followed by the last hour or so.
I can't help but figure perhaps that Seven should drop the 'live' aspect and concentrate on producing a quality highlights program for later viewing.

Still, I recognise that many Forum readers will be happy to get what television they can of the event.

I agree with Graeme, surely Channel 7 can drop their infomercials and repeats of Punky Brewster for just one night, why not have at least 3 hours or so of live/highlight footage in the wee small hours....

Still, better than nothing I guess....

maybe the 24 hr bathurst should have been a pay per view "main event" programme...

we pay $30 or $40 for a fight or the new kids on the block, i am sure that there would be numbers for a 30 hr telecast on cable including previews and highlights including the clubs and pubs.

we could just tune in when you felt like it and i would gladly give up the weather channel for 1 day and i for one would be happy to pay

not to say that channel sevens coverage won't be appreciated

Who watches Punkey Brewster repeats anyway?

Does anyone remember the way the previous 12hr bathurst (then Eastern Creek) races were done by 7?

I rather wait 2 weeks & see a fully edited program that went for say 2hr (like the way LeMans is shown on Foxtel), than a 'bits & pieces' partical coverage.

I really have a problem with watching the start of a race live & then racing to the Tv on the hour every hour for a 2min update (at least we now have the internet!!!) & finally getting to see the final hour of the race without know what has really happined.

Well now i've got that off my chest,
cheers.

Spose chan 7 and 10 could have done 50/50 of the race, say 6 - 12 hrs each. Some on saturday, then more on sunday.

Must have been a way to cram a bit more in for us fans. Take out the ads, "they do less durring the footy", be even more to squeeze in.

Channel 7 should have some highlights of the wee-hours racing at round 5am.
If not I'II set up a Punky Brewster is evil site.

Terrine, I agree with you. I would pay the cash to watch it on pay per view. Beats the other crap on TV

:p love the whole "punky brewster is evil" website thing SWRT...

now, at the risk of going straight to hell, Channel 7 could have dropped it's Christian TV schedule as well and had live/highlights from say 4am through to 9 or 10am

Didn't Channel 7 once show the Le mans 24 hour live in the 80's when Brocky was in a top Porsche?
I know one french station shows the Le mans 24 hour live non stop.

SWRT,
the #427 Car is being made in 1:18. Richard/admin (can't remember who) said that they would see about making the winning car after the race has been run (I think there may be some issues if a Ferrari wins etc....)
Also,
has anyone seen today's AA ?
Team Lambo has withdrawn from the 24hr, as a protest to the Monaro & the restrictions that have been placed on their race car. They are also considering to withdraw totally from racing if changes are not made to the current rules & restrictions upon their car.
cheers.

Did anyone catch todays (Sunday's) coverage ?
I noticed 7 made us wait until 2:30pm (i'm in Victoria) to see the finish of the race.
I'm glad they showed that old Elvis repeat at 12:30pm, because I know I wouldn't have wanted to miss an old re-run rather than a 'live' motor race!!!
Really, if I was Procar, I would be looking for a new broadcaster, as I felt their coverage of the race was rather poor.
Anyone else with the same thoughts ?
cheers.

I totally agree with brchi17 about the coverage, where were the highlights from overnight ??.

A lap onboard a car during the middle of the night would have been nice to see.

Surely the more coverage the event gets the more chance they have of attracting international teams to come over and race...
