Hi all,
My wife has had a little look at my other girlfriend ( this forum)

Now let me explain my situation, I am a ford supported ( blue vain flow in my blood) and so is my wife......but her income is derived by working in a holden dealership.
Any way she had today off ( not well) and she spent most of the day looking and reading this forum........And her feed back was.

We are a great bunch of guys . the only problem she had is when ever there was a holden V Ford debate we became little children ( guess that is why i like Models cars)

But apart from that all good. She said that senior members were the most consistent and informative , alway willing to help other out.

She said that the Joke thread was funny but sometimes become too heavvy for a forum for all ages.

Also she had special mentions ( must check her phone bill ?????)

VXfan was considered as informative and passionate and also funny ( going to have a quiet word with you)
Ferrari fan helpful and straight to the point
Singer, opininated but fair
Brachi17 and wayno funny and boy they can talk (type)
Young lion great reading
Nick short very opinionated but also very just in his comments.

All in all she was mooved by what makes me sad collum and was please by the way Males can help heach other

All in all I think we have passed?????

Im just glad my name was'nt mentioned, lol I would'nt be too stressed about the Ford/Holden thing, this happens on most V8 type Forums, its just a lack of understanding of Motor Racing thats all ;)

I might get her to join one day as she is motorsport tragic, i am just glad that we do have female members as its always good to get a female perspective on alot of issues.

Inter,

I'm glad that your wife thinks that I'm "opinionated but fair" however that is me.

I've been told that I'm an opinionated person for over 40 years.

That said, its been a strong will & opinions thats helped me along life's road. I've had 2 strokes (1 which left me completely paralysed, to the point where I had to learn to read, write, walk, talk, eat etc,) I've also been told that "I've an old head on young shoulders". I think that comes from spending so much time with the elderly & infirm during my rehabilitation (approx 18 months of it) as there was/is still no facility for the rehab of children who've had strokes after 40 years.

I always try to be fair in what I write, others may not agree, but that is their right. We all hold opinions.

Incidently, my parents, my inlaws & my wife agree with your wife's opinion of me.

Cheers:)

Dear all,
Inters Missus here ( Angie )

Have not visited the forum for a wile and it appears to have many new faces?

What has happened to the friendly buch that often frequented this forum?

Some of the attack on Ferrari Fan in other thread seem unwarranted:mad:. Ric has mentioned that the forum has gone a little sour lately and does not spend as much time on it any more.

You guys should see all the PM's he gets and they are quite demanding re pricing and values???? no thank you and please in the vocabolary.

And he anwsers most. Not sure why he bothers?

It comes across that there are many newer member here (possibly younger) that lack respect and or they are in here just to stir trouble.

I have read some great stories here through the years. Some make me Laugh and I think you guys are a bunch of wally's. Some make me cry and it shows me that men in general are more genuine that women.

Just think before you type , make sure that what ever you discuss will bring a smile:) and some happines in someone life ( even if you dissagree, at best you can make the other person think and wonder).

also how many other women frequent this forum apart from BEV and ofives missus? (I know i have asked this question before)

I agree with everything you have said.

I'm probably one of the "newer" guys, but I have often thought some posts directed towards Inter are of a very demanding tone.

Highly disrespectful, especially towards someone who has obviously put a lot of time and effort into keeping records for the benefit of others over the years.

I have to agree that the forum has lost a certain 'flavour' that it once had...

probably explains my reduced activity although I do still check it daily for interesting and informative threads...

not sure what's gone missing but I feel something has.

and Inter does do a top job of tracking the many things he does... it's a shame that some people expect it as a service rather then appreciating the time and effort he puts in...

Ang,
Thanks for the input. As a public domain a lot of what goes on can't be controlled. Free speech is a right we should all cherish.
I'm sure alot of new members will mellow over time. I know I look back on what I posted early with some embarresment. :o
Now I wear a moderators hat here I have a true appreciation of how hard it is to keep the balance between free speech and censorship.
Ric provides a great guide for new collectors (and old ones) and hope he continues to do so.
Browse a bit deeper though and there is still a lot of 'good' here.
It will all balance out in the end. The sharing of knowledge, pictures and other data here is the main reason I'm a member here. It's also one of the reasons I took on the moderating job.

Hi Guys,

thought i'd add two bob in on this one :)
I've always found this forum much more informative and friendly compared to others.. most end up in bickering about silly things rather then things that matter.. which is why i post here and there.. plus i think alot of people are weary about new members or rare posters because they are generally there to stir things up for no reason..

everyone seems to be a really good and are willing to help out if you have questions (cheers Brock05 & Pitcrew)

and thanks to all the people that put in the time like inter etc to give us all the info that they do

Cheers,
Brad

I have noticed this myself too, I've also seen a few new members make there first post in Scott's (Barnart) and/or Pete's (Designers) competition threads.... It might be just me, but I get the impression that they're only posting to try and win, and not contribute to the forum ( I apologise to those who may have made there first post there, and have contributed a lot to the forums).

The forum still is better than the CC one IMHO, as it's a lot freindlier.....and you don't realy get attacked for having a differing opinion to others.

To Inter, if people don't ask you nicely, I wouldn't blame you on bit if you didn't give them information.......

I think that your post is very good Inters missus. Some newer members (like myself) just join the forum to find out stuff that will only benefit themselves, and don't worry about giving anything back. I think that Inter has done an awesome job of helping everyone, even those who just want to find out a bit of info on their favourite diecast and log off.

Also, I'll use this opportunity to say sorry to you guys, for some of the silly posts I have done, since I have joined here. I have, before, submitted posts that I have instantly regretted writing, and being a bit of a wally, didn't delete them (because I didn't know how).

Last of all, Inter, why don't you just not worry about giving your stats to newer members who have not contributed with anything and don't even say please or thank you? I'm sure that they could search through other threads and find out from your previous stats.
Cheers,
Holdennumber1

people have different ways of contributing though and have different concepts of it... if someone says they were disapointed with the quality of something they tend to get labeled as a trouble maker. they may just mean that that it was still good but could have had a little more research, or quality control -which affects ALL business.

at all forums now there is are always goups of established people, that have been around for years contributing and are weary of new or newer members because of the trouble makers you can get etc.. trouble is it makes it hard for new people sometimes because if they type something incorrectly or phrase something the wrong way they get hammered.. i think everyone just needs to be patient andn sometimes check egos at the door..

but like i said earlier, this forum is one of the better ones i have been to, which is why i float in and out regularly.

If you want something removed then report it by clicking the icon at the top right of the post itself that looks like a triangle road sign. This brings it to the moderators attention. just type in the reason you want the post removed and we can see about helping you out.
