Hey there i was just wondering if there are any more people like me looking forward to the release of some modern ford road cars. Holden have monaros, special vehicles (many of) but we only have those great classic older models such as xw, xy, xb's etc. I can imagine so many people are looking forward to so many different models, but it would be nice to even up the holden / ford newer model street car releases.
Cheers

ewan,
some time ago Richard (Biante staff) mentioned that the following cars should be out before christmas

EB/EL Road cars (Falcon GT i assume) in 1:43 scale.

Barra Ute & road cars in 1:43 scale.

He also said that they were hoping to have the Barra Racer out before the new year with a bit of luck.

I've also heard that Dick Jonhson's 1983 (forest elbow crash) XE Falcon is due anytime soon.

I also got an email from Bridge Model Cars (SA) the other day, who said that the Barra XR8 (RED) in 1:18 scale, should be out around early march '03 (my bet would be at the Melbourne Motor Show, to co-inside with the release of the actual car).

So, for us Ford Fans there is a few more comming in the not so distant future.
cheers.

Ahhhh,25th Annaversary EB2 GT and 30th Annaversary EL GT.
The EB2 GT had only 50 road cars made while the EL GT had 250 road cars made.
May be along with the FPV GT model release we'll have a collection of GT's from the last 10 years.

There was more than 50 produce of the EB GT, I think the one I drove in Tassie was number 178 (can't remember for sure). I thought there was 250 produced of those as well as the EL. I remember something about 200 for Aus, 47 for New Zealand, and 3 for South Africa. Please correct me if I am wrong.

"Oh if our wishes could come true."
With the current model AU II Xr8 race car on it's last runs around the race track may be a few modifications could be applied to it to produce the road car. Once the Dick Johnson infamous "Rock Car" is produced then we may see the ESP model approach our shelves. Then finally with the "Red Roo" produced, then my all time favourite XE ESP.

These are only suggestions for whats on the shelf now, but what ever Biante has produced so far has been an exceptionally good piece of work.

P.S. Keep bringing on those GT's.

EL GT #'s were as follows
250 for Australia
15 for New Zealand
1 for South Africa
As for the EB GT i'm not sure on the total, although I know there were 250 for Australia.
hope this clears things up.

According to what I have here, there were 250 EBs built for Oz and 15 for NZ, making 265 in all.

Nick that 265 sounds right, I couldn't remember but that number is ringing a very lould bell.

The EB was my faviourite GT, as I got to sit in EBGT # P05 (Cobolt Blue in colour - my faviourite as well!!) at the You Yangs during a VACC visit evening about 1 month after it was released (what a thrill for a kid in yr11 at the time!!!!)

The first 5 cars were all prefixed with the letter 'P' meaning it was a prototype. They were ment to be rebadged without the 'P' when they were sold by Ford, however I remember seeing #P05 for sale about 2 yrs after the GT was released, so I wonder if the rebadging really happened.
Perhaps someone might know the answer ???
cheers.

Not a ford fan, but do agree. Would be nice to have more late - current ford road cars made.

brchi17, prototype #1 was for sale a short while ago, so the cars must have "escaped" from Ford unchanged!
