potty the car that it's meant to be copying never ran stripes like that....you'd think if they were going to do it right they would have done the stripes like the original XR
Considering they are having trouble trying to sell cars, I suspect this is the 1st of many limited editions Ford will put out until the new model arrives next year.......

It's a direct copy of the original 1966 "Hertz" SHelby GT350 ... also a copy of the Shelby Mustang released recently in the USA - see youtube video here - absolute classic .. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yPaK6eDT7fs
The FPV Falcon looks good but apparently there is no increase in power which is a bit of a shame for a special edition.

Have to agree with 'brchi' ... not that impressed with the overdone stripery.
The twin stripes over bonnet, roof and boot may be a partial reminder of the XC Cobra or a Shelby Mustang, but tend to remind me more of the HT Monaro GTS ... and they aren't well suited to flowing over that humpy bonnet.
I know that black has been a very popular colour for cars for some time, but I reckon that this limited edition FPV GT could have made do with gold body paint offset with perhaps a black patch over the bonnet hump with gold graphics overlayed along the sides of the hump, and together with the more discrete lower side stripes would have made for a classier celebration item.

Maybe because I'm an American, and there are not that many cool cars you can buy here, but I really like this FPV 40th Anniversary Edition. Actually, it's a wallpaper now on my work PC.

I reckon it looks good (for a Ford), could be a collectors item in the future.
