The 2 races ford has won, there was a holden 5 seconds behind it. Can the ford dominate at the last round?

I wish, but no, this years script is not written with any FORD wins, the two races we have won were mistakes.

Tips: Bright 1st, Murphy 2nd, Skaife Third, Craig Lowndes 4th, Todd Kelly 5th

I don't think Ford will have much hope at Sandown (God knows I hope I'm wrong!!!), as I think TWR will have their best chance of filling all of the top 5 places, considering that Sandown is a power circuit & the way they leapt out of the corners in NZ. Now if it was a 15 lap sprint race, then I think Ford might have some hope.
Just give them the tropies now and save us Ford fans the anguish & torture of another one sided affair.
cheers.

Ford will not win at Sandown. I think there will be 2 falcons in the top ten and thats it.

Murphy will win, The Kmart Commodore seems to have got it right towards the end of the season.

Since this will be the AU's last race before the BA comes the AU must win.
Ford showed great form last year,Lowndes just missing out on the overall because of a bad shoot-out time.
Also what has happened to shoot out points?
Lowndes out did Bargs in qualifying but wasn't givin the roung win.
AVESCO just don't want Ford to win.

I think that AVESCO has not done Ford any favours, but the front end on the AU's will prevent any chance of "dominance".

No, the VX's are racing against a Ford model that simply is not as good.

Roll on 2003, then perhaps the Barra will provide the best views of the VY's (from the on-board camera looking out the rear window).

Just wondering what excuses will be thrown around next year if the Holdens continue to dominate?!
Will it be Holden have better drivers than Ford?? Will it be Holden are using different fuel??

I think cameras in every car facing the front & back would be fantastic. For once & for all there will be no where to hide from those who need to punt a car out the way to pass.
Hopefully then, the stuards can then get their pentalies right !!!
The only way a Ford can win at Sandown is to make all of the Holden's do 1 more pit stop & olny allow them 2 people to change all of the wheels !!!
cheers.

Sandown being the Home track and show case race for Ford I think that Ford will be doing everything to make sure that their teams put in 110%. To do well here will set their year up for next year.

Out of the Fords I think BJR has the goods at the moment and if Ambrose can control his race he should do well also, as he always qualifies well. But being a Holden Man it will be a Holden 1,2,3,4,5, TWR finish with the other 5 places being made up of the BJR and Stone Bros cars with Perkins (S Richards) thrown in for good measure.

I didn't hear any boo's for Ambrose when he got on the podium.
At least the Melbourne Holden fans aren't as bad as Sydney Holden fans(all Skaife brainwashed).
If Ambrose was to win a round in NSW he would have been booed and maybe Holden fans smashing of Ford owners windows.

Hey SW, give us Sydney guys a go, I don't think I would get that carried away, but then again I am a Mexican living North of the Border. I was part right, said that if Ambrose controlled the race he was a chance, but being an achrt / twr fan i got carried away with the prediciton. Good race though should give Ford something to work with over the summer. Hopefully the BA will inspire more confidence and bring out the goods in more drivers than just Ambrose.

OK, Glenn may not be one of the Skaife/HRT brainwashed fans but most people new to V8's would back Skaife/HRT as thier favourite'/s and not give a rats arse for Ford.
Lucky that Ambrose and others are trumpthing over Skaife.
Any good places to buy big plastic bags?

And when you find those plastic bags SWRT,stick it over your head and leave it there.... until you suffocate.

Lucky that was the last race of the season and project blueprint starts next year or all you holden fans and teams would be sceaming for a parity adjustment, can't have a Ford win two races in a row can we!

clam down sboland,
I've no intentions of putting a bag on my head.
I say it as a joke.

I thought they all got boooed, with some faint cheers.
I would like to see fans, put there opinions aside, and applaud the team that performed the best on the day, 1st - 3rd.

Let's hope the BA goes ok, tired of hearing ford teams excuses with the AU.

p.s. Aussiecollector "Glen"
Congrats to you and your wife on the new addition in your family.

Excuses?. no its a fact, the Holden has better handling dynamics than the Ford AU.

Put the professionalism of HRT (and their budget) into the package and you will have a top team as we have seen.

Like they said on TV, has Lowndes lost all his ability? - no, it comes down to the overall package.

I still think their will be a Holden dominance next year as the Ford teams have more development to do than the Holden teams.

Basically they still have to catch up.

Do you really think so, Bathurstfan???

Given that with project blueprint, all cars will share a version of the Ford's wishbone front end, and the suspension pick-up points of the Commodore's rear end, I think the work will be pretty equal all 'round....
The Ford's will finally get the opportunity to hopefully get their power down, and the Commodore's will be able to utilise the Ford's better front suspension..
I say that last bit with tongue-in-cheek, as we all know that the Commodore's seemly 'worse handling' front end doesn't appear to bother it on most tracks!!!

You are quite correct though regarding the overall package.
It is definately in this area that most Ford teams need to work some magic to get some wins on the board.

Perhaps a 'HRT' like money pit would help too!!!!

Seeing as Ford has been the first to build a project blueprint car, and if it does work according to plan, will Holden cry foul over any advantage the Ford may get from earlier development.... Has someone at Holden got a test mule up and running yet??? Or will we see a continuation of the parity wars this time around as well????

I bloody hope that it all goes well this time!!!
For both sides!!!!

Ed :)

Holden teams and fans will cry PARITY if Ford win more than two races in a row, and then there will be a parity adjustment in favour of holden, thats why V8 racing as we know it now is utter crap.

MrHoldens
03-12-2002, 03:55 PM
Well holden fans will not CRY because over the last 9 years since V8supercars have been racing they have won most of them

P.S we are a different breed of people lol

Lowndes has not lost it, his driving ability is excellent. I recal watching the lead up to Bathurst when they demonstrated the shadowing effect over the esses (I think) and his lines were cleaner than Skaife's
Match the cars then match the reserch and development costs....ie cap teams expenditure on vehicles and if that doesnt work put them into classes...privateer and factory backed and make the teams adhere to power to weight and torque requirements.....it would sure save the bickering.

just an idea

Considering Holden was almost "broke" by the mid to late 1980's I reckon the "HRT money pit" is well deserved, don't you think?
I constantly hear how HRT has the most money, and that's why they always win. Well, good luck to them. In many other sports like Rugby League, soccer, etc, not always does the richest team win the comp. If Ford begin to win in next year's series, does this mean they are now "richer" than HRT.......think about it.
