Does anyone have any experience with the following product:

http://www.biante.com.au/product_7328.htm (http://www.biante.com.au/product_7328.htm)

If so can I ask a few questions? Are these clear display cases dust proof? Can you stack them together? Are they good quality? I am considering them as an alternative to a glass display case as I only have 10 models.

Thanks

yes its very good and i think they are stackable, the case fits perfectly onto the base and no dust

They do not keep all dust out, they do stack however if you've only got 10 I'd consider the larger case. From Memory it should retail for about $250

Ive got about 40 models on display in these cases and haven't had a problem with dust getting in.
They collect plenty of dust on the top of them though.

Go to Ikea and get a Bertby.

They hold 10 cars and look pretty good I reckon.

And about $170 at last check, so prolly cheaper?? Not sure....

Good choice.

Or the Billy. I've got one in a box at home cause I'm still working out where to put it.

Cept mine has the glass doors with metal frame so there is less visual obstruction to the models.

Thanks for the responses guys. I was initially going down the path of the display cabinet like the ones shown but dust is a real concern for me as I am often away for long periods of time with no chance to dust and most of my collection have decals so dust would be a nightmare. From what I see the small AA clear cases actually sit inside the base so I thought they may not let dust in so they seemed ideal although not nearly as cool as a display case. Although it has been suggested in this thread that the AA clear cases may allow dust in anyway but I would imagine not nearly as much as the Ikea cases? Are any of the Ikea cases pretty good with dust?

Hey all,

Thought I'd use a thread thats already running rather than create another.

I am after a couple of Auto Art stackable acrylic display cases. Biante seem to be out of stock and other online website charge a fortune for them.

Hopefully I can pick up a couple for around 20 -25ea.

If anyone can help or point me in the right direction, that would be much appreciated.

Cheers,

Garry

I have 3 of this combo. I have sealed them with a stick on dust strip available from Bunnings. No dust.

Interesting, that would be a sweet setup. Do you know how many 1:18 scale models you can fit on each shelf?

If you add extra shelves as I have 10 glass shelves then the middle solid wood shelf & then the bottom shelf, you can get 7 per shelf but as cars are different shapes & sizes some hold 6 etc.

This is my setup,

You are so right Leigh, but for me the only adults in my study are good buddys like yourself who know how to treat them, and if they drop one the just zip home & bring me there one! ;)

But the only other adults are of the female kind & they not here to look at little cars!

I know, one of our familly freinds decided to pick one up, and they way were holding nearly gave me a heart attack.

The little 4 year old boy across the road likes my collection, but even he know's he can't touch them.
