Thats in arcade mode, go into options and click "Handling", 2 min 5 sec at Bathurst is achievable.

The 'GRID' game ^^ is a Need for Speed type of game which includes drifting and boyracer type activites as Codemasters wants to get a younger audience. There has been no news on a new version of V8 Supercars.

I played race driver "V8 supercars were not even a part of it" on PS1 which was called "Toca Touring cars" not a bad game for the time & a good challange, then they added the V8 supercars on the PS2 games "Which I still have laying about somewhere" so as you can see it's only a small part of the racing to the whole game & not a true full blown V8 Supercar game, so not that realistic, but I hate to admit it was better than nothing as I did get some fun out of the games.
Yes the Hypers are very different & closer to the real thing, but to race is not cheap, but worth it ;)

But some people like em some don't as I do "what a hover vacuum does" on 1st person shooters, but I still try lol

I had a madcaz for the ps2 & logitec Momo for the PC " for the V8 game on PC it was great."

Just got lazy with the madcaz as I could not be bothered setting it up ;) but was good to use.

odds are it was only a Brock signature somewhere on the body (compared to the std release), which knowing Mike's skills I'm sure he could reproduce... ;)

i have been following the codemaster games since ps1. there were three games released on ps1
toca touring car
toca2
jarret & labonte racing. i don't know why they changed the name from toca to jarret & labonte racing on the 3rd installment of the franchise. the game list jason jarret & jason labonte on the cover they are the sons on nascar drivers Terry Labonte & Dale Jarret

on ps2 here in the states the first release was called pro race driver and included the dtm & v8 series. this was actually the fourth game in the series followed by pro race driver2 &
race driver06. so actually there have been six games in this series so far here in the states.

grid is a arcadish looking game sort of like need for speed & has nothing in common with the toca or pro race driver series.
i was wishing for a new race driver game myself with upadated v8series cars,no there not the best games on the planet but they were a lot of fun for me.
maybe someone can talk one of the game makers to do a aussie racing title with legend cars and the current v8s. hell a combo of the historics and v8's would make a great game with all the atcc tracks past & present.

Its called "GRAN TURISMO 5 PROLOGUE" he got it from the states off ebay.

That is the HD GT, one track with about 10 cars, then you unlock the same cars but they are tuned.

It also had a drift mode, so you can see they are targeting a wider audiance.

Yep i have downloaded that.. doubt GT5 will have drift though.. IIRC the prologue is just a teaser till the full game comes out..??

Yep it's a teaser just like before GT4 came out, they had GT Prologue.

That was good fun. I lost in when I hit the grass and then you cleaned my up. Was funny till I saw how damaged your car was. I drive using the front bumper cam, down side is I have huge blind spots. Can't see left and right lol.
Might be the game causing your mic not to work. Being a ps2 title, it might not support a wireless mic. Have to go racing again :).

What sort of usage does ti take playing this online??? I have the voda 5gb wireless and not sure how good it would be playing online. Son has v8s3 so wouldn't mind giving it a go on my PS3 but dont want to kill my 5gb limit....

Motorstorm is great game and the packs you can get are good fun too, the graphics are amazing on the high def tv ;)

Can't wait for GTA IV to come out but I could see this taking over my life..lol.. :D

Cam I'm running wierless & have the HDMI setup for picture & Optical for better surround sound ;) & playing online is like surfing the web, "Plus adds so much more excitment into the game" & not much is eaten into it at all.

Plus I'm getting people I have met online sending me pictures aswell I go online to my photobucket account ussing my PS3 to uploaded photos from there.

Downloading the demos eats into it tho ;)

Hi All, A bit off topic but wondering who plays V8 Supercars 3 online.

Finally got a good gaming PC and have been enjoying playing on line. Problem is getting the car set up right (or even nearly right) in Pro Sim mode.

Anyone give me any pointers on a good starting point set up?

un update on "v8s4" guys

yes GRID releases soon, and no it will have no v8s or DTM in it. HOWEVER, Codemasters has not ruled out releasing a game based off those two series, or releasing the cars and tracks as downloadable additions to GRID. we should know more details in the next couple of months after the GTAIV juggernaut has slowed down a bit;)
