Anybody got thoughts on this, Forget Phillip Isalnd, great sprint track but A couple of good long straights is needed just like Sandown. Besides the island's too cold for a whole day... Geelong, cheak it out on google earth it looks like they built a city on a race track...

Yeah they tried it in late 1983, then postponed it to easter 1984 then cancelled the whole show because they couldn't get the funding together to make it happen.

Is the little model shop still off the car park behind the main drag ?

Bought a mint and boxed Matchbox Fire Engine there in 1989.

One thing that I do miss about Geelong and Motorsport is the Geelong Speed Trials that were held at Eastern Beach. Used to go down to this event religiously when it was on as there was a great range of cars from Street cars through to Historic Race cars and everything in between including bikes.

Two attempts at getting it off the ground in '83 and '84.

Always thought an Avus type layout on one of the countries major freeways would be interesting.
