So this would not be the time to post all the terrible jokes?

Never a fan of Jacko, but I appreciate his (incredible) talent and contribution.

His passing will be remembered in the same way as Elvis Presley and John Lennon. Certainly past his best, but terribly sad all the same.

Heard this on the radio on the way to school and it came as a big shock. I never liked his music but he was the king of pop and a sad loss for the music industry.

Absolutely loved his work back in the 70's 80' . Only bought one album of his, Thriller but what an album and the video (the making of Thriller) got played over and over back then.
A strange person but what a talent, one of the best.

I dont think the jokes are "cool" at all. Same thing happened when brock passed away...
i forgot how many great songs and hits MJ had.. A true superstar.. Lets just remember him for the songs.
Because they will live on forever!
Damn shame he couldnt of given us a concert that was planned. Then everyone would of remembered him for that and the true talent that he has and not this other later years stuff.

I was shocked to hear this news and quite upset.

I've always liked his music and he was a real icon.

Can't imagine how his top fans, friends and family must be feeling.

R.I.P Michael Jackson.

Very sad news . I was lucky enough to go to his concert here in Adelaide in 1996 and what a performance. A Legend and Master at what he did.

RIP Michael.

Had some corkers today. Wont print, dont want to offend anyone. Same here David. I ended up with six jokes before lunchtime on my phone. They must have professional joke writers on hand for stuff like this.
And also, as good a singer and superstar as he was, I really don't like seeing him on every website, every tv show (they had a special early edition of the news for him) and every radio station. The death of one won't make the world stop spinning.
Cheers,:)

Thomas Of course its going to be on every website,tv channel, paper etc. He is one of the biggest names in the world.

The world wont stop spinning, but did it stop for PB? A lot of people not into motorsport were probably thinking why we were so upset, he was only a car driver (in their eyes).

Glad I have never heard a Brock joke. Be hard not to give the person a chin-check (sorry for the prison lingo).

As far as MJ goes, I often wondered about the allegations made against him insofar as he was probably a soft target for hush-money. I dont want to turn this into an innocent/guilty debate but thats my personal view and as an entertainer he was pretty much at the top of his game for decades. Sadly missed by many I'm sure.

All the music channels have been having Michael Jackson tributes, makes it sadder to realise that he's dead now after seeing all these tributes.

Yeah if you look at some of his youtube video's there are RIP comments being left every few seconds!!! Just had a look then mate and theres something like 130,000 comments made about thriller. Mind you, theres some not real nice ones.
And Bruce, I respected him and what he did but I would personally be more saddened to hear of the death of a soldier fighting for the country overseas or a surgeon who's regularly saving other peoples lives.
Its just the media will drag it on for weeks like when Heath Ledger died.

Thomas when people pass on
Most leave a mark and an impression,
Some go down in history.
the death of Chris O'Brien a couple of weeks ago touched me as do the deaths and injuries suffered by those standing for what we believe in.
ie the military.
others may have an influence on our lives thru the TV or movie screen, our musical tastes, and race tracks as examples.
some even build a company supplying model cars.
most are those who touch us are those close to us!
whatever the connection many can be effected in various ways.

just like the person or persons who keep poisoning the tree stump where Brocky lost his life,
mentality that is beyond me!

it is a shame that the untimely passing of Micheal Jackson has overshadowed the sad passing away of Farrah Fawcett RIP

Whilst typing this I have been watching Ch 9's tribute to Micheal Jackson
He really was a creative genius.
I am not sure if he wrote the lyrics to Ben, someone please confirm or correct me ?
however If you can imagine a pet rat in a cage and put words to it.
This is what this song is about!

Great post hobby and very well said. Funny you mention Farah passing away around the same time as MJ. Same thing happened with PB and Steve Irwin htough the media ran with the Croc Hunter legend moreso than an Aussie sporting hero who was an icon for decades before his passing. Not saying Steve Irwin didnt do good things but he was a bit more "marketable" at the time I think. Funny how the media shapes and feeds us (to a degree) isnt it?

Like you said, different people affect us in different ways but yes, thats just another 2c worth from Damage who tries to voice less opinions these days...

Now they are saying that his death was murder. He had that many prescription meds in his home that he took would be hard to say if it was them or the drug found in his body after his death.

MJ was an amazing talent.
I am just so fortunate to have seen him perform live in Sydney on his History tour,
otherwise i'de have massive regrets - he was one of my idols growing up in the 80's.
