ausandman,
Seeing as I started the thread, thought I should say what I have heard.
All I have read is that it will compete in the Nations Cup later this year.
Article in AMC issue 2, page 14. No idea if it will be at the 24hr bathurst.

This is an artists impression of what the car 'could' look like.
When the Monaro was first released they drew up the Monaro as a V8 Supercar.

A few months back a Commodore magazine had a an artist impression of a convertible Monaro, they say someone is actually doing it. I can't wait to see the pic's. The artists impression is funky enough, but to see it in the flesh would be Monarastic! LOL!
Checking out Bathurst 24hr website and I can't see if it's in or if it's out so I guess only time will tell.
Sandman.
I joined up to the GRM website so I could get info on the Nations cup Super Monaro but still NO pics on the Monaro in devolopment.
They said when the site was last updated they would have some pics soon(it was updated after Oran park so they'll have them soon.

ausandman, making a convertible Monaro (CV6/8) is easier than most people think. There is an entire convertible mechanism from a "GM" donor car (current shape), that is almost a direct bolt in fit.
But, you'll never guess which car it is that supplies the parts!
Ive seen the Holden Design convertible engineering drawings for the Monaro, and i think it looks all wrong. But, i dont like the "idea" of convertibles either, so im biased.
