View Full Version : Biante vs Classic Carlectables
Hi Guys,I'm Back!! I know everybody has a right to their own opionions but I'm sick and tired of the same people bagging the opposition. Do you people get Brownie Points for doing this? I collect BOTH brand of cars and are happy with them both. To be fair you have to compare fish with fish. Classics gave us a good product at a good price. Biante gave us an excellent product at double the price. I collect both brands because they both give us V8 Supercars and that what it is all about, collecting the ultimate touring car. Why don't these same people bag Trax models, thats right they make cars that Biante don't make so we can't bag them, what about Matchbox cars, around the same price as Biante 1:43 cars oh thats right they make alot of American cars and Biante don't. Just remember guys and you know who you are because you are all the constant bleaters that Biante stock a huge assortment of different manufacters and they are all not as good as quality as the Biante Brand, so why don't you bag them? Everyone to their own. Classic Models can't be that bad, look at the prices for the NZ Brock and the Brock Farewell car. Both around the $500 mark. I will end it here because i know i will get alot of replies to this one and will have fun reply to the threads. ps good to see you back again Dale always enjoy your comments and welcome back Bert, are you getting bored yet with the colour red?

I agree with you Dave, i started with CC's & only buy Biante in the 1/18 scale with the exception of about 3 1/43 scale. Check out the lastest news letter from CC's their 1/18 scale of Seton looks good, a vast improvement on their previous efforts.
A bit of competition between the 2 model companies is like competition on the race track, it's got to be a good thing for serious collectors to have freedom of choice
Anyway thats my opinion

I agree, there is no argument when you consider the price difference. I have both brands and I wouldn't have as many if they were all the same price as Biante's models.
Both brands are good value for money.
The Classic 1:18 cars have been as low as $60 which is good for people who don't have a lot of money and for the younger kids starting out.
I'm just glad there is a choice.

I agree with all the above, I dont know why some people carry on about this is better than that and so on. I collect models for the enjoyment and I get any cars that I like , wether they are $30 or $300 it dosnt bother me, I like it and thats all thet matters.
I enjoy my cheap models as much as the dear ones.
Thats my 20 cents worth
Happy collecting

I just finnished checking out the CC home page, and I hate to say it.... but the pics of the new models look really good! in both 1:18 & 1:43.
Maybe this year I will have my first CC car in my collection? (Great now I need even more overtime and space).
It will be interesting what the prices will be.
But like other people have said, if you really like that car do you really care who makes it?

I collected the 1:43 CC cars only for the fact that I wanted to get more of a range of cars as Biante did not make some of the cars when I started collecting the 1:43's. Now that Biante are releasing 1:43 models I will purchase these models over CC's as they look alot better than the CC's, but if Biante do not release a model I like then it will be a CC model for me in that size.
The 1:18 Biante's are the only ones I purchase in that scale as they are so "REAL" it is not funny and unless Biante do not release a 1:18 model and CC do then CC it is if I really like that model and it's a must have.
As Westy said - if you like/want the model it does not matter who makes it - just buy it!
Everybody wins if CC improve their models as then Biante will improve their models... That way we all get even better models with even more detail (if they can put more detail on the cars).

I collect Biante & CCs, I also have some trax. Recently I had to sort out my insurance and had to take stock of my collection. Here is a bit of a comparison on the relative values for replacement.
Prices taken from biante site and gateway model cars. Also, I havent been collecting Biante that long.
CCs Spent $ 748.00 Replacement $ 1849.00
Biante Spent $ 1684.00 Replacement $ 1944.00
Trax Spent $ 558.84 Replacement $ 1612.00
Bear in mind about 3 of my CCs would cost $ 800.00 to replace and most of my biantes are still available.
Im not into for resale but I think it shows there is a market for all Aussie cars and that is backed up by the amount available nowadays, it can only get better.
If you look at both companies the split amongest the V8 Teams goes in favour of CC's. The only exclusive Biante models are all the TWR Cars, 00 Motorsport , Ozemail and the Betta Cars. Classic have 18 cars on board to Biante's 15 or 12 teams to 6.(all the TWR cars counted as 1 team) This does not also count the V8 Brutes they will produce. This may seem to some I am favouring CC's, that is far from the truth. I'm just trying to prove a point to all those who trash CC's. Just remember (even as a crude model asthey were) CC's were the 1st to give us V8 Supercars and we all have to be grateful at that. Biante were not around in the Mid 1990's (please correct me if I am wrong Admin) so to many of us at that time we had no choice but to collect CC's. It would be great if the Team at Biante gave us, in these forums, a brief history of the company from the conception to present day. I would love to know whether CC's Models or Trax Models inspired Trevor and Bev to make a better model. It is not only Australians that love their Ford and Holdens we Kiwis have the same love affair,"Westies" are what we are called. You just have to look at the crowd sizes at last years V8 Round at Pukekohe Raceway for proof.

Am I right in thinking that the new CC's will be made in the Exoto factory..???
If that is the case then the product should be top class.
My major problem is being able to finance all of the Falcons that will be up for grabs. Am getting very sick of having 15 HSV's that all look nearly the same. May need to sell some......

It has already been said in another thread that the CC cars are being made by Motorbox which is actually Exotos "Cheap" brand.
Hey drof, I didn't see DJR on the CC list, I think Biante have exclusive rights to that team as well. I may also be wrong and both manufacturers will make them.
CC may have more cars but Biante have the top teams.
If the cars are as good in real life as they are in the pics then I may have my first CC car in my collection. We will all have to wait and see.

Ummmm, I may be wrong, but I think Biante started the whole Aussie Die Cast thingo off with a GTHO Falcon in the late 80's. At the end of the day, biante took the risk to produce a model for a relativly small market and tested the water for other companies, even though to this point the targeted demographics seem different.
They only started the 18th scale stuff. Trax was making all sorts of things before.
Also Dinkum was making good product as well.

All three DJR cars are on the CC list, Also the Cat car will be a double up also.

The CAT car isn't on the Biante list in the "Latest news" section. Only DJR, 00 Motorsport, Betta, and Ozemail so it looks like the DJR cars will be the only double up.
Also, isn't there Biante sponsorship on the DJR cars?. There was last year and I don't think things have changed. I wonder if CC will include that on their model.

;) Gentlemen what is all the fuss about are we collectors or are we dealers it all cames down to what we want to collect ,I myself have both cc & biante because both make different teams but I must admit cc are my favorite ,even more so now with there new models and the detail is something else and at $37.50 well what can I say,by the way CCs are making all3 DJR and they are doing the CAT car were as Biante are doing the Betta cars from the same team Happy collecting
If you look at last years CC HRT cars you will see Biante sponsership on the front guards, so GTS that wont stop CC's doing the DJR cars

Competition between Biante and Classic is good for us collectors. We have a better range with both companies in the market and the competition in the market has risen the quality.
The only downside I can see is with the competition and both Biante and Classic chasing Exclusive Licences the price is rising.
After getting my Classic Newsletter I feel that the Classic quality may have actually jumped above biante and with the 1-43rd at $37.50 it will still be cheaper.
But as many have said in past postings, I think the sledging is ridiculous, if you are a racing fan and collector if you like a Team/Car buy the model, it doesnt really matter who makes it does it?
They all look good now.

..if Bburago would make nice models i d buy them too....who cares WHO does the models..as long as they do what i like ...in a good quality..they are my friends :D
I have all the 1/43 scale CC Fords, except for the signature series.
I have 3 Biante 1/43 scale Fords, being 2 Lowndes 00 Fords, and the Jones Ozemail Ford. I have (so far) 5 Biante/Autoart 1/18 scale Fords, being the DJR XC & XE, 2 Lowndes 00 AU's and the Moffat XB. I also have a CC 1/18 scale DJR AU. I have heaps of other diecast models, of different scales and manufacturer's..
I like them all for different reasons, the main being that I'd never be able to build them as good myself. The most valued models I have are the DJR Greens-tuff XE, and soon the Tru-Blu XD, I have waited forever for someone to make them!!
Competition between model manufacturer's is only of benefit to us, the collectors..
My only gripe thus far, is that the distributor's on the engines of the 1/18th Biante models are not even attached to the engines...
Otherwise they are well worth the $$$!!
Ed :)
