There are more and more rumblings going on on different internet sites that Minichamps are going to make ferrari models again, be it driverless ones of the models that coldwheels have brought out
hopefully this long held wish by me ,will come true.
Cause I am getting peved of to buy a model at great cost and a lot of efford only to find that the ..... have used a Barrichello car to make a limited edition 2000 WC 1/43 car Grrrrrrrrr
Also it is very difficult to get F1 models here in Perth at all, even if you wanted them.

Hi Ferrari Fan
Despite Mattel holding the worldwide rights to Ferrari models it is interesting to see that Spark Models have announced plans to produce numerous 1/43 versions of the Ferrari 333sp Sportscar. Perhaps this positive attitude will encourage more modelmakers to challenge the Mattel monopoly.
Start saving ! ! !

Ok guys, don't get too excited.
Spark are producing the 333sp and Kyosho will be producing the Daytona road cars but we have had no news from Minichamps regarding them regaining the liscence for Ferrari. Quite the oposite infact.
The only news we have seen says that Minichamps will not be producing Ferrari models in the forseeable future.
Thanks.
Richard from Biante.

Interestingly enough, there is another manufacturer making Ferrari models.
This is an Italian company named Revival. They are producing World Championship-winning Prancing Horse single-seaters - from the 1952 500 F2 to the F2001 in 1:20 scale.
However the first model they have produced is The 1933 Alfa Romeo Tipo B which was an evolution of the car that debuted at Monza in 1932 which was race prepared by Enzo Ferrari.
These models are of an incredible quality (from the piccies I have seen), including over 250 pieces, using alloy for the engine and many of the other parts. smaller metal parts are hand turned and the wire wheels are actual replica's of wire wheels, rather than photo etched wheels.
They are only producing 399 of each model. Now for the sad news.
These models are only being offered to Ferrari Owners via the Ferrari Owners website. If you don't own a ferrari, you need to find someone who does to order you the models (I am lucky enough to know someone with an F355:-)). The other bit of sad news is that the models cost 480 Euro each (around $805 Aussie).
I currently work in Bangkok and got the news today that mine is with customs so I plan to take some piccies of it next week when it gets to me. If I can produce better pictures than those on the website indicating the detail, I will post them, however, I have attached one of the website pictures so you can see it.
I think it is definitely worth finding a ferrari owner who can order these for you (if you are willing to part with the money). At this stage, they have only released this one model. Apparently they spend about 300 Days in research and development to produce each model, so it is expected that these will be released over a significant period of time.
I love my Biante models as it is cool to collect Aussie cars, but it is hard to not treat these models as the centerpeice of my collection:)

for some reason the pciture wasn't attached to my previous posting. Instead I have added a page at the following address that contains three pictures.

Thanks for that Ferrari Fan. Much appreciated. The site does have some cool looking models.
As mentioned, when the one I have ordeed gets to me, I will post pictures of it up on my homepage.
I am in the process of overhauling my homepage (which has had a stagnated development for a few years now) and will be putting up some videos of my driving experiences in Bangkok if you are curious.
As an aside, its nice to see Michael and Rubens have the two fastest times in testing at Barcelona so far with the F2002.
I think i will give up on trying to put pictures in the forum, instead putting them on a web page.
