Purely subjective choice here. Had the first wheel on my Patrol for about a year now, it's a 13 1/2" diameter "poly" Autotechnica. Quite nice to use, only $45-00 from Repco.
Picked up the second wheel recently off eBay for $20-00. It's an older-fashioned SAAS leather 13" job.
The AutoT. is softer to grip & very nicely shaped, where the SAAS has a nicer feel but is a bit harder "cushioned". Neither blocks the gauges & yes, I do have P/S.:D
Which do you guys think looks better?

mmmm that is a tough one they both actully look pretty good but i think id go for the saas as i do have a bit of a soft spot for them and i dont really like the look of the bottom of the first one as it does make it look a little bit cheap.

I like the looks of the SAAS, but the Autotechnica was shaped like the one I had in my VK Calais & they feel was great.
So see if you get used to the SAAS & if not change back & wack the SAAS back on ebay ;) or vicea verser
Cheers

the SAAS looks like a nice gripping wheel, where as the Autotechnica looks a little thin for mine.

I'd prefer the SAAS (as I voted for elsewhere;)), but if you decide to go for the AT, I'll save you the hassle of putting the SAAS on ebay:D

You know that is not an obstacle to making a change, it just makes that change a hell of a lot more expensive ;)

Yeah, it's just the cost of the things! I've had a couple of days with the SAAS now & as much as I like it (it's my fav. wheel, I've had 2 versions of it before on other cars) I think it is a little small but I'll leave it on for the rest of the week before making a final decision. ATM, to me the SAAS looks better but the Autotechnica is easier to use. Really, a 14" or 15" SAAS would be perfect. Have to keep looking.:)

Yeah like you said the SAAS does look better but the AT would IMO be more user friendly.. Great cars too the Nissan Patrol.. My old man had the Ford Maverick version with the Nissan donk, bought her brand new in 1990 put 330,000 k's on it in 10 years and she never skipped a beat.. Truly an excellent car.. Even put up with the thrashings i gave her when me and the mates loaded her up and went bush to camp.. :2thumbsup:

As it happens, mine is a '90 model. Tough old thing & very easy to work on. Magic in the bush too. Getting time to get out there is the problem these days.

The Autoart, sorry Autotech one suits the car better so Id go for that one. The SAAS looks too sporty imo...
