You beat me to it!

Picked up a copy myself today as well - doesn't look too bad, nothing too in-depth, but some nice photos of events you've mentioned - Goodwood Revival , Sandown Historics, Speed on Tweed etc, as well as plenty of historical shots from Bathurst etc

As soon as I picked it up I thought it would be the sort of thing guys like wayno, brchi17, Amon Fan etc might be interested in.

$6.95 for a quarterly mag shouldn't break the budget either.

I might have a look for sure. Theyll probably tell me to get lost, but I wonder if they need contributors for the Shannons meet?

Is it worth getting it?

Is it worth getting it? Well, that's up to you to decide, but I reckon it's certainly worth having a look at it. Like I mentioned, it's only going to be published four times a year and, at $6.95 a pop, it shouldn't break the bank - a lot of people spend more than that each day on lunch....

There's not much to it (as Sammy mentioned 50 odd pages), and very little of that is made up of advertising (in the first issue at least) - editor is Allan Edwards (ex-Auto Action I believe) with Mark Fogarty and Darren House contributing as well, so it might be worth getting in touch wayno - won't hurt to check it out at your newsagent anyway.

I'll check it out although with the likes of Kev Bartlett, Dave Seldon, Ray Bell and Barry Lake regular contributors on forums i think the days of such motorsport magazines are numbered. There have been many in the past that have quietly dissapeared.....

Some of the current crop of Journo's are also on forums and some basically have race reports and photos in threads......

I bought this magazine and I am happy I did. I bought it for the GIO GT-R on the cover and the article inside, but I think I might buy the next issue as well. The magazine needs a good copy edit, as there are small errors in it (the GT-R apparently had a 2.4 litre engine according to them rather than the 2.6) and there are other small typographical errors that a thorough edit would have caught, but overall it is a nice little magzine package.

I think once they get a few issues under their belts they will tighten up a bit and know what they are doing. They will also start tapping in more to the historic racing going on, the various associations (Group C and Group A Association, etc.) and as more events are held they should get some decent coverage. The Phillip Island meet in March should produce a bumper article.

Give it a go. If you don't like it, you don't have to buy the second issue, and you've only wasted $6.95. And as GSXR1 said, some people spend more than this on lunch every day.... And I am happy that someone has had a crack at a magazine like this for the Australian market. The Poms are well served in this area by hallmark publications like Motorsport.
