Has anybody had a chance to compare the Biante 1/43 DJR 2002 AU with the CC 1/43 DJR 2002 AU side by side?

The CC would appear to be a better buy at some $10 cheaper than the Biante, but what about the overall look of the models - who has it right.

Which one did you put your money on?

I would be interested in your thoughts.

I've looked at these 2 side by side (albeit in their boxes) & I honestly can't pick between them. I recently bought the CC Pirtek Falcon over the Biante Lowndes 00 Falc. for precisely this reason, as much as I like the Green Eyed Monster, at least the Pirtek car won a couple of races. Take a look at the Seton/Ford Credit Falcon by CC, I really thought I was looking at a Biante job the first time I saw it.

Steve,

I brought the Ambrose in the CC last week, I brought the Mrs the Seton car about a month ago. The only V8supercar 1/43 in biante I have is the Lowndes Green Eyed monster. Yes they are a little different but I like all 3 models. There is no need to hide CC 1/43 cars at the back of the shelf anymore. I am still waiting on the 1/18 scale cars and see how much they have improved, and if they are anything close to the Biante range.

The Vitamin C E49 still get my vote as the best 1/43 car.

I dont think I will be wasting my money on the CC Mustang either, I think the asking price is a little tooooooo much for my liking.

Do you know the best thing about this is ?
Its' that we get more variety & more Falcons to choose from.

Remember back in 96 when the first cc was released that year the only Fords were Dick's, Bowe's & Glenn's Falcons to choose from.

Now,
we've got DJR(3cars), SBR(2cars), 00(2cars), Briggs(3cars), BJR(2cars), Larko, Seton, Paul Weel & Supercheep to choose from. Regardless of who you prefere, at the end of the day, us collectors are the big winners, if only for variety.

I try to get one of all of the 1:43 Falcon's (regardless of which company) as i love the 'Blue Oval' so i couldn't be happier.
cheers.

I brought the Ambrose car and I must say it looks great.
If the 1:43 CCs are not rated so highly how come a few of the older models fetch such a high price? If anyone out there can sell me an Ingall SLX car from 99 for retail I would like to know ;)

Like brchi17 said - its the collectors who end up winning with more teams to choose from. You could purchase the top 10 cars for this year if you wanted to in 1:43 (when the BIANTE Holdens are released).

Brchi17,

Do CC also do David Besnards car? Now that would be nice to add to the collection, more so if he is off to 00/Briggs/GSR/Prodrive.

Hi mustang1966,

I have seen the Besnard car and it looks pretty good. I have seen it in Hobbyco in Sydney. Email me if you would like me to grab one for you ;)

Cam,

Thanks for the offer mate. I might try and duck out of work on Satuday for a look. They are still in George St, near the QVB?

Damn the Mrs is going to be impressed with the Webber Minardi, Moffat twn set, Ambrose and now the Besnard car. And all of them within a week.

I had a closer look at the 43 scale cars today and did a more detailed comparision between the Seton + Ambrose CC V The Lowndes green eyed monster. There are only a few small differences between the cars, they are not to shabby.

You live in outer western Sydney correct? If so have you seen the new VY Clubsport getting around. I have to say I was very impressed with it, not a bad looking car at all. Photo's did not do the car justice.

Thanks again

Mark

Hi Mark,

No problem, they are near Rebel and Dick Smiths upstairs through an arcade...

Yeah I know what you mean about the cars, I just got the ambrose car and was filling a few spots of the 1:43's. Received my notice about teh twin sets tonight so will hopefully be waiting at the post office on Friday :D can't wait!

Yes I live at Penrith and no haven't seen the new VY Clubbie yet. Saw them at Bathurst though and they look pretty good.

Cheers.

Cam, yeah I know where you mean now. I have wandered in there before.

Have you always lived in Penrith? I went to Penrith High, and still live around the Area. I am just holding out at the moment to sell a house on Maxwell St, before we build up at Bowen Mountain. If you do Eastern Creek each year we should catch up for a Ale or 2.

thanks again

Mark

I ve seen the DJR cars next to each other .The Biante one has more details (decals of locks on bonnet) But i liked the rims of the CC one better....can t really say which one is better...maybe the Biante one because of more details...from the price the CC model is a good compromise.
I d buy the Biante one cos i like heaps of details :)

Yes they do (SBR 2cars), I think it has been released, but 'm not totally sure, you'd be best to check their web site for a rough release date if its' not already released.

Overall they are an improvement but still some way to go.

Its a shame that they only used the Fuel Filler Die on the seaton car and none of the rest (stickers) I can not for the life of me figure out why they have done this its the same on the Holdens Perkins has the diecast fillers and the rest have stickers.

The 1/18ths will be interesting to see, I hope they have improved their skills in regards to getting the scales correct or these puppies are going to look preety weird.

I collect all v8 cars in 1/43 scale both CC and Biante, both have great detail. The main difference i can see is turning the cars over and looking underneath and the change you get from a $50.00 note.thats my opinion.

I know what you mean about the $50-00 note, Doc ($53-00 in some shops) but is there a great difference underneath? I don't have a Biante Supercar to compare with, just road cars (which have great detail) but I was quite impressed with the underbody detail on my Pirtek car.

Here is the responce I got from CC regarding the fuel filler issue, when I asked as to why Seton's car has a real one & yet the others simple have a crappy sticker.

"Our tooling for the 1:43 Ford and Holden was done during late 2001 / early 2002 before the new Siamese filling system was developed. Therefore there was a hole for fuel filler as on the original cars at that time.

We did not have time to re-build the tool before the release of the Seton and Castrol cars so we took the next best option and printed the outline of the duel filling system. Thereafter the indentations were filled and we tampo printed the oval onto a smooth body line which is as the original cars with the siamese filling system which of course is now compulsory for all V8 Supercars.

This is not a sticker but a tampo print, Classic do not use stickers.

Because the pit lanes change from race to race the fueling is done from different sides therefore one side has a cover plate and one does not. Some teams do not always fit the cover plate.

The Ambrose model is correct. Our design team works very hard to get all of these details accurate and we appreciate comments from our collectors.

CC Head of Design "

Seems like a bit of a cop out considering the level of detail that we get on the Biante versions.

Food for thought,
cheers.
