Found this thing at coles when shopping this morning for like 8 bucks... was wondering if anyone knows any particulars about them at all or if hotwheels are just using the holden tm to make money?

The only $8- Commodore I know of are the two Hot Wheels Pace cars from the Melb GP from a couple of years ago.
3 years ago Holden had a special pace car painted up like a Hot Wheels car & there was a different pain job for the following year. Since then the pace car at ths event has been the F1 Mercedes.
Hope this helps,
cheers.

the hot wheels commodore has been covered in a previous post.

matchbox have also a similar number......

The Hot wheels pace cars were the safety cars for the V8 supercar support races in 2000 and 2001.This years Hot wheels safety/pace car had the same look as in 2001.Also the Hot wheels safety car made an apperance at the 2001 Sandown V8 utlamite.
I'II be getting a customised 1/43 of the 1999 Hot wheels safety car that was driven by Peter Brock.
Maybe Biante will make models of the 2003 BA XR6T safety car in various scales?

hey Guys-

In the Nov-2002 issue of Diecast Collector magazine (page 47) there is a image of a VT Commodore -silver in color with a orange rear spoiler/orange war paint on the sides with a number #12
with the writing OZ Some on the side.
