View Full Version : Who do you think will win Sandown?
With this non-stop rain, Sandown will be interesting this weekend?
I think Shane Van Gisbergan (or Cheeseburger) might pull of a suprise if it keeps raining hard.

Well, for the last two days we've had fog in Melbourne, but no rain for weeks...and the forecast is for more fog, with heavy fog (drizzle) on Saturday morning...sunday is more fog!

The last proper (heavy & constant) rain at Sandown was about '97. I think the whole field played in the gravel a turn 1. Can say that I don't want that again.

Thinking of race 1 I was surprised that Lowndes was allowed to race out there for so long when clearly he had loose body work swinging off the front of his car, other's have been black flagged for a lot less  !!!
Fortunately though went CK did manage to smash it off (from his car) it only fell on the track & not into the crowd. I must admit for once I think Mr 'push to pass' was justified in what he did as clearly Tander did move away from his line more than the allowed once!
...did I just justify CL, think I might go & have a few panadol's & lay down for a little while.....:o

I'm being little negative but I'm certainly not rushing on my opinion of what I've seen today. Sure there was a lot of close processional racing (blocking?) but there didn't appear to be a heck of a lot of passing done on the track. Sure the odd strategy pass through the pits, but overall I'm yet to be convinced that it was the beast round.....perhaps ch.7 missed more than what was happening
Were you at the track fordmad or was it the Ford 1-2-3 which made this round all the more special for you?

Jolly good weekend chaps...even the Victorian weather was actually fairly kind. Bit of a bummer for CL in R3 but those things do happen now & then, I seem to vividly remember one PGB who sank the slipper into the loud pedal when the green flag dropped & the tailshaft snapped like someone had fitted a licorice one !! The toddler seems to be emerging from the depths again, SBR back on track, C B Motorsports still at usual level except for the #2 (?) driver, Russel the Muscle, having a pretty fair crack at taking the bikkies ! HRT seems to have backed into a hole but I would not bank on that situation lasting any length of time....Pretty good effort by DJR too.... Roll on NT. :D
