To Bev & Trevor Young,
I would like to publicly & wholeheartedly thank you for my 3rd prize from this years Finishline competition.

You can only imagine the look on my face when I read the accompanying letter to my prize. When I read the words ‘A finished sample of the upcoming 1983 Dick Johnson XE Falcon’ (before I dug my way through the packaging to find it), I could believe my eyes. I actually had to re-read the letter to make sure I wasn’t dreaming.

Upon viewing the model its’ absolutely awesome!!! The standard of this model has got to be the best one of the DJR collection to be made yet and words can not describe my excitement, when I first put my eyes upon it. I can honestly say that you that you won’t see this car for sale in a few years time (regardless of what may happen in the future), it simply means too much to me and no amount of money could ever make me sell it.

Not only was there this, but the iXO Richard Burns World Championship winning Subaru (1:43), was a fantastic addition to the prize and one of the few WRC Subaru’s I didn’t already have.

I also liked the photo of your dog chewing on the soft DJR Falcon (one can only assume it was one of the Classic ones & after the last 4 years of the AU’s I can’t think of a better use for it - the AU that is !!!), it was worth a good laugh.

As you may be aware from my letter I am simply in awe what I have won & no amount of thanks could describe how grateful I am towards all of the people at Biante for my prize. To be honest, receiving this Dick Johnson model is to me, a far greater prize than what would have been received by finishing 1st.

Once again I would like to publicly thank Bev, Trevor & all of the team at Biante for my prize.
Cheers,
BRAD CHILD.

ps. I was just wondering if you knew how many of these ‘finished samples’ there are out there for my own personal knowledge.
Thankyou once again for my prize, you’ve made one life long DJR fan’s day.
:D

I am glad the Subaru was not already in your collection. I actually went through your previous website orders to see what you hadn't ordered from us already and crossed my fingers you hadn't got it elsewhere.

The Johnson XE is pretty impressive isn't it. It will be a good talking point when put next to your regular release XE (which I assume you will still be purchasing).

I hope I will be futher up the ladder and can have a chance at getting a prize like this next year. I finished 15th overall this year and even missed three rounds so I am now thinking of what might have been.

Anyway, we are all glad you are so happy with the prize and good luck next year.

I think I might get a special plaque made (which is why I was inquiring about the number of these built) to go in front of the car, rather than put it with the rest of my DJR collection (yes, I am still planning to purchase one of the actual models of this when it is released in the new year to keep my collection a complete one).
I believe this car is a little bit more special than the others which is why I would like to keep it separate when we finally decide on a house to build.
Could you please pass on my thanks to Bev & Trevor.
Thanks once again,
BRAD.

well done brchi17, it sounds like a wonderful prize. As a DJR fan I am envious.

I guess your picks during the year were not for the Rat and young Steven.

Good to hear your story Brad,

I hope there is still hope for any of us COLLECTORS being able to win a prototype of something in the future from competitions or whatever. I know I would feel exactly like you do if I won something especially if it was a Brock car, anyway well done it's good to hear of a rare car going to a good home.

Cheers, Jason

Congradulations brchi17,
Good to see someone who will enjoy their prize. Any chance of posting a few pics of the XE on the forums?
Regards
Damian

Thankyou to everyone for their kind words.
I will take some digital pics of it at work today (I bought it in for 'show & tell') & try to post them after work on the forum.

HELP !!!!!!
I'm having trouble with posting the pics of my model.
It keeps asking me to make them 500x500 but I'm not sure what it means. The pics are jpgs and between 33 & 47.1kb in size, so I really don't know what is going on.
Any help would be really appreciated,
Cheers.

Reduce the pics to no bigger than 500x500 pixels. That should work.

Try going into 'Image', then in the drop down box, click on 'Resize', change the units from centimetres to pixels, then reduce the image to 500x500 pixels or less. This works when using a basic program like Microsoft Photo Editor.
Hope it helps.
