How many hours does it take to drive from Alice Springs JamesPre speed limit 9/10 hrs now it is 14/16 ,as we now have a points system not always a smart idea to push it.A 130 limit with a get you booked point at 7 to 15 over is 2points not sure on the money but don't want to pay for a tank or two of fuel to the govt coffers for them to send on nothing but their own self interest projects .

Time to pack the car for a SLOW trip to Darwin in the morning,am looking forward to the warmer evenings and nights as it has been rather chily down here of late.Time for my yearly dose of sunburn without even trying.Hope we have a good weekend of racing with several classes including the Touring car masters,V8 Utes and FF.

I must say it is pleasing to see a team swap brands and go back down the feild as they did in the other brand. Changing brands dosen't fix a team which can't win.

Gee a safety car for a dangerous flag.

I thought that was absolute garbage, they used it as an excuse to 'engineer' some excitement into an otherwise dull race by bunching the field. Shows how low they are prepared to stoop to try to keep the racing close. I could hardly see the flag being hit by a car being dangerous to any one. The radiator support pannel was well off the racing line according to Steven Richards.

Was I seeing things or did the replay of the restart in Race 3 show Tander turn to the right out of turn 1 and take Whincup out?

Bit like Lowndes on Todd Kelly at Philip Island last year...

And what was the story about Paul Marris in Race 2 - according to Crompton 'he didn't accept the decision' (about the penalty), 'so it's now in the hands of the stewards and may be resolved after the meeting?'

What The?

I thought if you were given a penalty you were given a penalty.

VESA have a big pin board with a list of possible penalties. They blindfold someone, spin them around 3 times and them get them to pin the drivers name at the most suitable penalty, job done & works a treat to boot ;)

The start line controversy for race 3 seems to me to be a bit of a nothing story...Richo had his front tyres right on the white 'box line' whilst Garth had his back about 2 feet, hence the fact Richo was 'further forward'. By my calculations GT was way back from where he could/should have been ??? Even so, the car starting from pole position has the theoretical advantage on the run into turn 1....and he got sacked by the 2nd & 3rd placed cars by that point. The 5 car sure never started in front of him, so just too slow on the reflexes !! Onward....

Because it was looked at after the race as you heard 888 tell Whincup that they were going to get it looked at.
CL also wanted GT to yeild for him complaining that he was blocking,???? how can it be blocking when CL was 1-2 car lenghts behind (I think CL has been doing alot of this complaining of late)

If garth had been a few metres further forward, he probably would have had his nose right next to Richo's back wheel been able to sneak down the inside.

What was so different about this incident and so many others where the offending driver subsequently gets assessed the equivalent of a drive-through penalty after the race? (as an example - the Courtney incident on Murphy in Race 1 at Adelaide).

Wait a minute - the guilty party was an HRT driver - silly me!!! ;)

(And yes - I'm joking).

It's an interesting call on the Tander turn 1 thingy. The only logical reason I can think of for this penalty is that perhaps Garth did open up the steering mid corner to deliberately push Jamie wide. Knowing that the cars have data loggers which record this sort of stuff it could explain why he was so honest in admitting fault in this instance

What I also find beyond laughable is all the incidents regarding Paul Morris which have to be heard come the next round at Queensland??? Surely he's not that unlucky that he's been the innocent victim in all of them....

Even my red eyes thought Tander looked dodgy. I think the pressure is getting to him as he realises that without a serious improvement in performance that his title defence is doomed.
The Holden teams simply have to learn to keep tyres under the car as well as the Ford guys (especially 888) do.

Wayno - I think you are dead on the money tyres are becoming a problem for Holden & until their engineers get their heads out of the a---s they will be running a long way behind the dark side for the rest of the year.

I was up there & all the talk in the pits from Holden guys was how fast the dark side are - well I suggest they stop whinging about it & get stuck into it.

Otherwise I had a great time & really enjoyed my time up there - they sure know how to turn on an event in the NT & how to treat us racefans - the southern states should attend Hidden Valley & see how it can be done without ripping off us fans.

$70 - 3 day Super Pass included Pit Entry
Food outlets that you could actually had taste & the prices were not over the top
Drink outlets all over the place
Free bus to & from the track
Lots of covered areas which were free including grandstands
Tables & Chairs supplied
Top support program
Great off track entertainment
Overall top event run by friendly staff in bloody fantastic weather

Won't be the last time I attend Hidden Valley that's for sure
