I would think that they are about 98 percent identical. So why not do them now? I mean if you are tooled up for making HRT VR/VS's why not do them now?

Definatly Hossack or Ellery at the wheel, as they drove the Wynns/GMS car at Sandown & Bathurst that year.

Wynns & Hossack were running with John Faulkner's team throughout the ATCC while GMS made limited appearances with Mark Skaife, for the final round of the ATCC at Oran Park Wynns & Hossack moved to GMS.

Not sure they are exactly the same. Did the Sandown cars have the blue windscreen banners or the red ones like at bathurst?

They had the Red windscreen banners.

From memory the difference with the cars was The Bathurst 1000 logo above the numbers for bathurst, Sandown had a Mobil logo above the 1, and the Senteq and Seven Sport logos were missing at sandown, there was a Ten logo replacing Seven Sport pretty sure.

1996 was the Tickford race as well, and yes the Holdens cut off all reference to Ford.

Different year Brad. 1996 the Holden teams cut the Ford reference off, the next year they did not. I would not mind betting they were warned that they would cop a fine etc.

How would Holden feel if they sponsored a race meeting and all the Ford teams cut off the advertising. But then Holden seem to have a history of stuffing up others advertising. ie the Holden blimp flying over major sporting events even though they were not willing to pay the event organisers to display their wares.

I think they had Mobil above the numbers in the NZ races at Wellington and Pukekohe as they were underwritten by Mobil

They defenatly ran the Mobil 1 stickers above the numbers for the Sandown 500. There is a couple of pics of it in the 1996 Great Race book from Chevron. i cant get the book into my scanner without wrecking it though :(
