AMC issue 5 gave a great wrap on the XA GTHO phase 4.
The car looks so great it should be modeled in all scales(the Bowden Moffat race car),Biante minicar,1/43,1/18.
Also with XA GT's on the way,now would be a good time to start working on it and it could be part of the Moffat collection.

SWRT,

I thought that I read somewhere on the forums, that Trevor said , he would be making the XA Phase 4.

Trevor, is that true?

.....and when they finally track down the Phase IV hardtop, a model of that too!

It would be absolute madness not to include the Phase IV model to the XA GT collection. I think an additional pamphlet should be added describing the variances in the option 83 model.

The phase 4 hard top is the "half" phase 4.
It would be a great model to have beside a Moffat phase 4 race car.

You are all a bit slow , I brought this up well over a year ago.
Yes! Allan Moffat's phase 4 and the Clipso Green phase 4 that the Dentist in Sydney owns, By the way has Biante got any plans to do Allan Moffat's Phase 1 GT-HO from Bathurst 1969, he came forth outright in it.
Gee its a pitty Biante didn't do a 1/18 of Murry Carters yellow PHASE 3, and John French's wild violet phase 3 before they had finished on the XY, they would of looked sensational.
How about a poll on Biante doing a 1/18 Falcon mock up XY GT UTILITY in a couple of colours.

Biante have NOT finished the XY models. Admin clearly stated there will be no more XY Phase III ROAD CARS

They could always do one of the race cars just after it had been painted, but before any decals had gone on. Say, an all-white paintjob, to represent the car in an unfinished state in the workshop? It could have any number of mirrors you like...

To add an update on the Phase IV. I am leaving the country for 2 years so I popped into Trikking Models in Perth to ask if I could put my name down if the Phase IV came out. As I didn't want to miss this model.

I only buy the XW/XY models but would definitely buy a Phase IV if produced to add to my dozen cars or so. Will get the XRs and XTs when they are released.

A guy there pretty much spoke to me as a 5 year old, first telling me that there is no such thing as a Phase IV. Little confused there having just purchased my Muscle Car magazine with a 22 page article on it. Secondly Biante would never produce this model as it would cost $350 per car. I stood there a little shell shocked and left the store. I should have gone back and told the guy what to do, as a 29 yr old I am not used to being spoken too in that way. I will definitely never set foot in that shop again.

So there is an update for you from some guy who claims to work for Biante. If all Biante ppl were like this I would defintely stop buying their models. This might also be an answer to "is there going to be a 4 door XA GT?" I hope so, it would be relatively simple to change the wheels, add some Alan Moffet decals and we would have our Phase IV for less than $350.

IN RESPONSE TO: - Gumby,

As the Owner / Manager of Triking Model Cars, I feel obliged to reply to your criticism of my shop and staff.

I was present when you came in off the street. Not recognised as a regular customer and without an introduction a please or a thankyou, you stated that you WANT to leave your name and address in case the Phase IV was produced. This was because you were leaving the country for 2 years and you did not want to miss out on this model. You DID NOT ask to leave your details, rather you made it sound more of a demand. I am 52 yrs old and like you, I take a very dim view of someone I do not know telling me what I MUST DO especially with MY OWN business.

It is your choice to leave the country for 2 years and you MUST respect my choice of refusing your details for a model that is extremely unlikely to be produced. Furthermore, had I taken your details and “hypothetically the phase IV was to be produced and I had misplaced your details, would you then proceed to blame Triking for the failure to supply you with the Model ??

The assistant, to whom you refer, works part time for Biante and part time for Triking (Both businesses have ties BUT are run and operated independently of each other). He like myself are aware that a few phase IV’s were produced. However, you obviously misunderstood his comment that it was not planned for production as a model, and IF it were to be produced, the cost would probably be in the region of around $350.00. This cost would be reflective of the lack of variations that could be produced from the mould.

As for never returning to my shop, I learnt many years ago, NEVER SAY “NEVER. With that in mind, you are more than welcome to return to my shop at any time.

As for the Phase IV, the Internet is Worldwide therefore you should have access to view www.biante.com.au If Biante were to produce the Phase IV, you should also have access to order it from the site. This should alleviate your fear of not obtaining an example.

If you wish to discuss this further, please have the courtesy to contact me directly.

Regards, Garry

Gumby, I feel I have to defend Triking too,
I started going there to get my models whenever they came out and now as a regular customer I can say that Garry and Geoff have always been very helpful and do try to answer your questions to the best of their knowledge without the BS like some other shops.
It is unfortunate that you may have had a bad experience there but in general I think that triking is an extremely well run and friendly place.

Dealing with the public is sometimes difficult indeed.
To state that "You will never set foot in this shop" is sad.
The reason I do say this is that ALL people connected with this shop deserve a knighthood and all the medals that go with this.
They even (,still,) put up with Me!
I set foot in there nearly every day, or so it seems to the VERY helpfull and FRIENDly staff

Respectfully yours

What an old thread !!!

It would be great to see some 4 door XA & XB GT's as I am lead to believe that there were more of then on the roads than the hardtop.

I saw the Phase 4 on the Ford Rally a few years ago & it looked awesome, one can only dream of how it would have gone at the mountain as I think it would have been an even bigger legend than the Phase III !!!

Oh well, it never was, but I hope we see this model in the short term, as I bet it will be one of the most popular Biante models when it arrives.

Oh & ff, I thought you were the Biante Police !!!:D

It's all in a bit of fun,

cheers.:D

I hadn't thought of this. As much as I'd love to see a Phase IV, a cost that is double that of a normal release is a bit prohibitive.

I second Brad's request for some 4-door XA/XB GTs. Can you say "Big Bopper" and "March Hare"?

Talking of four door XB Falcons, I'm curious as to whether any Perth Forum members are old enough to recall the "RTA" cars of the seventies ....you know, those mean looking lowered white coloured XB and XC 351/5.8 base model Falcons that were part of our state's version of the Highway Patrol ?

Interesting model prospects perhaps ???

White pursuit specials, yes please! I only remember the XD's & E's and they where very nice looking cars, especially the ones with the front black spoilers, think these where on the XE's.

Graeme, check your pm's

Yeah Paull,

The black-nosed Police cars (RTA no longer by this time) in Perth and WA country to which you refer were the XE GL 5.8s fitted with the larger Fairmont Ghia headlight units and 'S' pack front lip spoiler.

The whole front bumper plastic assembly was unpainted.
