Hi all,

I have a Neatgear WGR1614v8 Router, I've had it a few months no with no trouble, until recently.

I came home from work and fired up the computer only to find that my internet wouldn't work.

I couldn't connect directly through my computer (modem to PC) so I rang up Optus and they fixed up my connection.

Internet work fine now directly with computer and modem, But still, no connection through my router!!!

I've tried running the set up disc again with no luck. The lights on my router are red (the internet light)

What should I do? What has happened to my router??

Cheers, Nathan

you still have the net
try the net gear web site this may give some insight
search your model FAQ's etc
only a suggestion and trying to help

This may sound stupid, but are any cables unplugged? All it takes is one cable to slip out and your internet doesn't work. Also, if you havn't already, read through the instruction booklet for your modem or Optus plan. They contain some qaulity info about what can go wrong and how to fix it.
Good luck!
Cheers,:)

If Optus reset your settings, they might have also changed your password for access into this function. If this is the case and your router has a different password in its settings, this might be the reason its blocking it. Dial into your router setting and check the password etc...Im no computer wizz but my thoughts anyways.
Cheers

Hi guys,

I have been tinkering around with this issue for almost a week now. I have followed all your helpful suggestions, but none of them have worked.

wrxwrc, how do you get into the router password setup?
