I know I have seen something about this in an earlier thread some time ago, but can't find it now when I need it. While unpacking my white Torana SS hatchback today, I found the passenger side mirror lying in the box. Is there a glue that works better than others, or can some damage the car and/or mirror in some way? Any advice appreciated :)

try a UHU brand gel, although not as strong as super glue, it won't fog up the surrounding areas or try Tarzan grip, an oldie but a goodie. these glues still aren't strong enough if the mirror takes a knock but it is strong enough for displaying and its better than having a damaged model!

on damaged cars, i got my HT Monaro home yesterday, and was looking at it and i noticed one of the seatbelts in the rear seat has been wedged behind the seat (must of been during assembly) where as the other side is normal and the accessability to it isnt enough to get a pair of tweesers in there to try to pull it out. any ideas on how to get it out (without dismantling the model)?

Try silastic, the thick one in a tube (clear) it goes off really quick and sticks really well and best of all will allow the mirror to take a few knocks without breaking again. Only use a very small amount or you will end up with goop everywhere and it is hard to clean off without damaging paintwork.

Hey Chups,
try sewing shops and dig around, ive seen these hook needles once at Lincraft for tapestry. i guess it might work if you can get some thread behind it to pull it out or fishing line but it does look difficult
good luck

That looks like a tough one chups. All I could suggest would be to use the old standby - a stiff piece of wire with the necessary twists and turns and a hook on the end.
If that doesn't work try turning your model upside down, raising it about 1 metre off the ground and then drop it. The impact should dislodge the belt. As for the model... Well at least the belt would be fixed. Sorry about that. I know it doesn't help.
On a lighter note, that's a great close up photo. And those graphics. I reckon you could get a job with the TV cricket broadcast. Seriously, how did you do that.

Got my monaro delivered today - great model - even looks good sitting amongst all the fords. Unfortunately one of the seatbelts is behind the seat like your model. Did you have any success getting it out or are you still working on the problem? Was wondering how difficult it is to remove the body (6 screws by the look of it) and whether that would allow the seatbelt to be slipped back to were it should be. If anybody has pulled a model apart before - would this allow access to the interior to fix the problem? Sure would appreciate any ideas!

i havent had time yet to try fixing the seatbelt yet (work, g/f etc)but ill let you know how it goes when i do.
also i have puuled these cars apart before (not the HT, but VT GTS, Monaro etc) and its more trouble than its worth trying it. it is a real pain trying to get it back togather with the steering and all.

Got my Monaro last week, very nice and I wasn't aware of the seat belt problem at the time but mine didn't have this problem, however I went down to my shop to pick up two for mates today and after reading about the seat belt problem I payed extra attnetion to this and while carrying out an inspection, I and the dealer found no less than 4 models with the seat belt problem, one with a bent antenna and two with noticable paint chips, as I've said before Biante do make the best models but quality assurance is lacking.
