Alrighty peoples ive been thinking about making this for a thread for a week or so now so what the hell lets give it a try a couple other ides for threads seem to have worked so far :p
this is the idea of the thread ppl
this is the idea with a couple of guidelines (however if there breached i dont expect the mods to have to come this one hence why simply just guidlines
ok so heres the go ive dribbled long enough
we all like a good deal right? sif i had to ask that
ok with the recent 2 deals that have been mentioned (cheap jack daniels cars / mark webber cars i figured well if you hear of something cheap either coming up or currently happening post it in here
the only things id like to restrict this on is
1) posting to where location, shop, state, price, duration of sale, quantity of items ect (dont worry if you havent got all the info)
2) you can ask questions like how to get to where this is happening asking relevent questions ect
3 no LIES! i dont think anyone would do this but no one needs you wasting others time
i think that will just abut cover it
reason im making this thread is because i for 1 MIGHT know of a sale coming up but i WILL NOT say more till i confirm this
so lets give this a go and see how it pans out happy hunting ppls

Firsly, good idea for a thread Smokey.
I just have one question, are we allowed to post ebay auctions, like cheap buy it nows? (not auction that are still running)
Cheers,:)

I can see a problem. If the seller is the person posting, then you are breaking the no advertising rule. How can you police it?

dammit!
hmm i guess we will have to wait till a mod sees this and see what there opinion is

I think its a no-no already in case a member is watching something they have found and then the whole community finds out. I think thats how it is anyway...

I can see a problem. If the seller is the person posting, then you are breaking the no advertising rule. How can you police it? Malscar, there is no real way to police it. I know if someone did advertise their acution, it would brake the forum rules, but most forum members would know the average price of a certain model thanks to Inter and wouldn't set a cheap "buy it now" price which is what I originally asked if we could post.
Plus anyway, what stopping people from advertising their auctions in the "extreme and interesting ebay auctions" thread?
Cheers,
Thomas

Fair call. But probably 95% of the auctions listed there are extreme and most of us are more laughing at the seller's stupidity or greediness.

Something tells me people already do that. Its just another reason why we should have a dedicated section within the forum specifically for wanted/for sale etc.

What's wrong with using the current buy/swap/sell link on the Biante Website? I personally dont think that there is a need for such a thread/area with that in mind...

this is more for off website deals eg
the cheap jack daniels cars that unless 1 of us saw while on our travels none of us would know about

Well we've got the extreme eBay & good buy on eBay threads and my personal opinion is that it would be far easier for members to keep track if we simply edited the name of either of one of them to accommodate this 3rd topic, as a good buy on eBay or a good buy in a store/Internet is pretty much the same thing in my mind.

basicly what i was going for :D
the idea as i said was more so no one missed out on a good deal out of the reach of others eg model shop no website but might be your local
this might even keep some struggling retailers in some bizz where no onwe knows about there sales
long shot on that 1 but you never know
cheers for keeping this going Brchi17 :D

so if we were to merge this into the good buy on eBay thread, what should it be called?

As has been discussed previously, there is no accountability with the existing BSS section ie you dont know who you are dealing with.
Personally I would be more comfortable with at least a small amount of knowledge of/repore with whom I am dealing. If you want to deal with hackandhopediecast@hotmail.com be my guest.
I would hate to see it taking somebody getting burned before something is done about it.

I like it, would we be happy with good diecast buys or is good buys enough?

How do we avoid spoiling it for people who are watching a good eBay buy? Remove anything except BIN listings posted? I know it was an issue with the other 'good buy' thread.

i know its contradictying what i said earlier when i answerd this already but that was b4 i had my frozen coke and thought my answer through :p i still think keeping auctions not completed OUT of this 1 maily keep it for as also said previously shops with no websites that are having sales stalls in shopping centres ect ect off the radar stuff

I don't like the idea of links to current auctions unless they have a 'buy it now' option.
That's hy the 'good buys on ebay' thread was changed to completed auctions only.

I think it's a good idea as i've purchased a few models after having a heads up in one or another of these threads, like the Webbers thanks guys, like has been mentioned, one drama would be if theres something i'm watching and all of a sudden it appears on here and the price goes through the roof, then it would change to what cheeses me off thread. Maybe as Damage mentioned, just BIN listings like the Webber cars or the fire sale of the JB cars for eg.

Must admit, I have to side with my fellow moderator on this one, I really hate the links to the live auctions for to reasons:
1) I believe it against the spirit of why the advertising policy was introduced.
2) A lot of the time we don't know who is hosting the auction and if a deal (someone links to) goes south then I don't like how that might look for Biante.
