Slightly not Biante this topic - My apologies Admin!

For what it's worth, I am in the process of collecting Matchbox cars I had when I was a kid.
My originals have been long gone, thanks to some neighbour's kids!!
I've managed to find a few web-site's in Australia, and overseas that deal in these cars, and I'm looking for more.
If anyone has any good links, could they post them up or preferably just send them to me.

A search of the usenet has failed to find any such forum for these, hence my post here.

No, I have not lost the plot, I'm still collecting my Biante models, and will continue to do so!!

Thanks for any help!

Ed :)

P.S, any updates on future DJR releases Admin??

I collect mainly Dinkys but my son collects the same as you. He bought around 6 of these in December from Traffic Collectables in Melbourne. Their number is 03-9521-2522. Evidently they carry many of these old models. Nice people to deal with and lightning fast on delivery too. Have only had Mint models from them.

Diecast, thanks very much for that, I will follow it up.

In the meantime, I found this link off an American newsgroup,

http://www.mboxcommunity.com/cgi-local/dcforum/dcboard.cgi?az=list&forum=DCF

If you go back to the hoempage, you will find all sorts of links to other pages..

I've already managed to find a number of very wanted models for my collection.
I wish you and your son good luck with yours!!!
Thanks again to Admin for allowing this thread!

Ed :)

Hi all
just some questions about matchbox cars.

I have some old matchbox cars still in original boxes, i was just wondering if any in the forum in an expert on these cars.

For example some mica cars and i have also a beccles regatta model t ford, only 500 made world wide. Does any one know the value and prices?

It has always amazed me that cars this old still survive in their boxes ... Mine came straight out of the box and went directly to the sandpit !! If only I'd known !!:)

I found some at Granville swap meet a few years ago, and the Penrith one too. The ones I got from my childhood meemories were all $5 or less, most Mint or close to in boxes.

The diecast market is a strange one isn't it , the value isn't determined neccesarily by age or condition but sometimes what the vehicle is .
I used to always think that if it was old and excellent condition then it would fetch a furtune , I soon learned different pretty quick .

But I've always had a soft spot for the old matchbox supercars although I've not collected them since I was young but I remember getting the catalogue brouchers as a young lad and my brothers and I picking out the ones we wanted , seems like only yesterday  .. lol

Also try Model Cars of the World (www.modelcars.com.au)...check their website as a strat, but also give them a ring as they have heaps of stock not on the website.
