Utes and Coupes, the true joys of a young blokes heart.

When all the GT's, GTS's, HSV's and everyother Sports sedan been produced then may see these produced.

Don't Bore it, Just Big Block it....

from memory,
I believe that the Barra & VY utes were being tooled for late last year (Oct,Nov ???), not sure on the scale but it would be good to see them when they are released. A wile ago I got a Dinkum DJR ute (1:43) to go with the rest of my DJR cars & to have one of Biante quality would be fantastic.
A V8 series of utes (like what we see in the paddocks at the races) would be a good adition to go with the race cars, actually the transporters would also be good to have as well. Keep them all in 1:43 scale so that they are affordabale, otherwise I'm sure many of us would not be able to afford all of them.
cheers.

A little off topic but this thread will do...

With BIANTE having rights to Peter Brock what about his son? I notice that CCs are doing some of the Brute Utes and have James' ute from last year listed. James is going well this year in the category currently running 2nd. Curious if BIANTE are making any of the Brute Utes? Would look good in any scale and I think some of the liveries "could" be popular.

The targa ute of Brock is planned in 1:64 - are there plans for 1:43 or 1 :18 versions?

CC's have sole rights to Brutes, so Biante won't be making any...

IIRC Biante signed J. Brock but the CC-Brute contract overides this for the Brute...

Thanks Leigh. Interesting that one make got the sole rights to this category - imagine if that happened to the V8s

I think the market needs to have a few competitors. Otherwise there would be a greater cost involved with these models.

CC should have the UTEster and the Mambo panel van out soon.

But I'll wait for the Ford V8 BRutes- in 1:18, of course.

Brad, I am going to have to use a bit of Kiyosaki reasoning on you:

"Don't say that you can't afford it, instead ask yourself how you can afford it."

The BrUtes have definetly got some eye catching livery's.

Some good on the eye and others not.

Be interesting to see how popular these models are when released.

I know there have been a lot of XY's released but I hope one day either Biante or CC make the XY Ute in GT form. XR, XT , XW's and possibly the H series of Holdens utes, all in 1:18 scale.

I am looking forward to CC's release of the 2003 Ford Performance Pursuit UTE in 1:18 scale and the 2 x VU SS Holden Utes as well, due this year. I'll buy them no matter who makes them.

Heres hoping.

Must admit that I've been quite impressed with the 3 cc ute's (Holden SS50, Red & White AU XR8's) I have to date & can't wait to see what Biante will present us soon.

The pics of the HSV & VY ute's look good & the Ba Persuit will look very good as well.

I'm surt many of us would be interested to know when we might expect to see the first of the Biante utes as judging from the popularity of the cc ute's, there is difinately a market for them.

cheers.:D

Like you said, the Arrow Coupe looks hideous in 1:1 scale, I don't think shrinking it will make it look any better. It's almost the ugliest thing I have ever seen.

Vanpyre, that ute looks pretty mean already!!! Is it going to stay in Cobra colours?? That'd look good with the blue stripes going down the tonneau cover. Is it for your own collection, or for a customer?

It will be remaining in Cobra colours. I am not sure if anyone has seen it but there was one made in 1:1. At the moment it is for the collection but, as for all the models, it would be made available for the right price ;)

Progress shots and info will be on our site so if anyone is interested in it be sure to drop in.

I'm going to have to try a custom like that one day. Have to get myself a dremel first, and decide which car to turn into a ute. I want to make one that wasn't made in real life, such as a WRX or something. That shouldn't be too hard actually with the release of the wagons, might give that a go, when I finish some of my others!!!

If you go and have a look at our site, you will see that we have turned a Mercedes C-Class into a drag ute ... well in the process of doing it anyway!!! There is also a 1:24 plastic Mustang kit that is going to be turned into a mustang panelvan. You would be surprised at some of the weird and wacky stuff that we do.

You would have to spend some time going through the forum and also the gallery to really find out though (there is now over 1300 pictures in the gallery!!!!) It is good to see the work of other model builders out there as well.

The most important thing to remember is that you are only limited by your imagination!!!

You could spend all day looking through your Gallery!!! I've had a look at some of it, must have a more thorough look through it.

all day .... I reckon it would take about a week and new photos seem to be getting added on a daily basis. If people want to show eother their handy work or their collection to the rest of the world then it is the place to go. We have found that it seems to be growing at a fairly steady rate.

Like we have said before, it will never be as big as Biante and nor was it intended to be. It is just a spot for model builders to go and share their model building experiances and maybe learn something as well. As you can see I still use this forum for everything else :D

I have to say, just by looking at that Cobra ute pic it gives me an idea of how you do it. I tried it on a plastic kit Impreza WRC but it didn't really work out, so it was chucked. Working in 1:18 diecast might be a bit easier, is it?

Vanpyre57

Doing the ute in 1:18 would be one of the easiest mods to do. well not as easy as a straight respray but in relation to stretching or making a 4 door out of a 2 door it is very simple. Some cars are easier to work with than others. The most important thing is to pick something that has relitively straight lines as this makes it so much easier.

Then it is just a matter of marking the lines and cutting it with the trusty dremel!! then you just use sheets of plastic to make up the tray area. see..... simple!!!! LOL

I'll definately do one later down the track, and I'll show you how I go. And I'll put the build process pics in my gallery too.
