Richard - is there a chance to add another search to return all models that are on the site with the status of "Production Planned" like the "In Transit" search. Thanks.
From ADMIN,
Thread starters..PLEASE make sure you spell all the heading words correctly...otherwise it will lessen the impact and the responses if members dont know what the heading means because it is mis spelt. TA!!

Cam,
An excellent idea.
I have been thinking about that since the "in Transit" option first appeared.
I bet that Rich will do this, because he wants to keep his collectors happy. :)
What do you think, Rich?

I just listed all 'production planned' models in my section and a couple thousand models came up. Too long to be anything but annoying.
We are always looking for better ways of doing things but this one is not practical (and was looked at when the site was first being developed).
Thanks Cam.

How about if we could select it as an option along with a manufacturer and scale? That should limit the results returned.

I think the_goldie has hit the nail on the head. Although the biante search engine IS definately one of the best, there is still room for refinement.
I search through 1/43 Australian regularly to find what cars are production planned for budgeting, but this list keeps growing (this list, I hope in time, will exceed the length of the current production planned list):)
A search for 1/43 Australian that are Production Planned would suit me perfectly.:D

Rich,
I am not really a pain in the backside.
Scale18 has a search facility with 9 different sort conditions.
As Cam said, if you can have a couple of sort conditions, that would solve the problem.

Rich,
Even with the search facility, eg: australian planned or australian transit or australian stock , it still brings back many records.
Is it possible to add the year and month to the description eg:
"FORD (AUSTRALIAN) BA FALCON XR8 Sedan (Phantom) 2003
Biante Premium [B180701B] 200401" in the format of yyyymm.
This would allow the user to display every model that was listed during a particular month, obviously this would display the biggest number of records.
You could narrow the search eg: "australian 200312" this would show every australian model listed during December 2003.
I think this would be a major advance to the users, as the searches for Australian models are growing again.
I display the Australian Planned, but being an old person, I can't remember which model has just been included, so by adding the yyyymm would solve my dilemma.
What does everyone think?

The search criteria is sufficiently consise now.
If you want as above a 1:18th XR8 in Phantom, type in XR8 and 18 in the scale box.
You get 6 cars...one of which is Phantom. Pretty simple.
Type in Phantom and 18 and you get 4 cars. Easier.
Type in XR8 Phantom and 18 and you get...1 car!! Dead easy.
We have 13200 items on the site and as Rich explained, a search on Production Planned, or some such broad criteria, will bring up a huge list.
I think like all search engines, you need to be specific.
We have "In Transit" as it is an important list for most collectors.
