Hello everybody,

Sorry if this is considered a little off topic but we wanted to let people know that a new and exciting car club has been formed.

AUSTRALIAN MUSCLE CAR CLUB of NSW.

“For the Preservation of Factory Authentic Australian Muscle Cars.

Founded by Bob Fulop and Robert Losurdo.

Dear fellow car enthusiast, we invite Owners of Authentic Australian Muscle Cars to participate in the birth of our new club.

We, as highly enthusiastic owners of Australian Performance Cars thought that inviting owners from other various makes on Sunday drives and other activities would prove to be quite appealing. We are both members of the HSV Owners Club while Rob is also a member of the HDT Owners Club of NSW and the Monaro Club of NSW.

Please Note that at this point in time, all activities are restricted to New South Wales Only.

Our initial thoughts are to have bimonthly Sunday drives, and an assortment of Drive Inn Nights at varying intervals.
Imagine participating in a Sunday drive and being amongst a collection of the finest Australian Muscle Cars ever built from the late 1960's to the current crop of high performance cars from Holden and Ford. The convoy should contain but not necessarily limited to: Falcon GTs, GTS Monaros, 6 Pack and V8 Chargers such as E49s and E55s, Torana XU1s, SLR 5000s, L34s, A9Xs, Ford Cobras, Brock Commodores and Statesmans, Tickford Special Vehicles, FPVs and HSVs. If this concept does not tickle your fancy then a used Lada Samara should be your next car!

We have devised three strict criterions that we wish to preserve for acceptance within the club.
Firstly, the nominated vehicle(s) must be within the approved models as set out. Details can be forwarded to interested parties.

The second criterion is in regards to originality.
All vehicles must be as close as possible to Factory Original Specification. Naturally, concessions are granted on consumable parts but the overall factory authenticity must be maintained.
All vehicles will be inspected for final membership approval.

The third and final criterion is in regards to general appearance and roadworthiness. We would expect all members to have cars presented in a respectable and tidy condition. Part restoration vehicles may need to be completed before final acceptance.

For convenience, communication will be distributed via email. If you own an Australian Muscle Car and would like to be included in our group email, please contact either of the undersigned. If you do not have email, we are happy to maintain contact with you to keep you up to date with what’s going on!

Interesting idea, it sounds like a great place for car lovers to get together.

I wonder if our 71 XY GS Faimont with 302W, TL and 9" (Pretty close to Original, except, headers, carb, Inlet manifold, heads, cam, dizzy, and wheels) would be allowed to join this Elite group. Would it be classed as a mussle car or just a tarted up family hack.

I also have to wonder about the close to orginal as possible. Even most modern day HSV. Tickford and now FPV have some kind of mod done to them, such as after market Headers, Exhaust, chip, etc

Hi Mustang1966,

Your XY sounds like a nice Street Machine but with the mods mentioned it would miss out.
Most current HSVs etc are stock. We have over 350 members in the NSW club and the bulk are untouched.
The mods seem to be done by non car club members.
Regards,

Bob.

Thanks for the reply Bob. The Mrs and I would have been interested but it looks like we will have to stick with the other 2 clubs we belong to.

I would not class the car as a street machine as the paint is all original as is the interior and suspension. Just a nice clean car with a few mods.

Peter, Think there might be a 65 3/4 Mustang club I could join, or maybe find a family hack streeters club.

We should look into a shopping centre door ding club.....we can cater for all vehicles (even Lanos's:p) and hold fun events like the zebra crossing to zebra crossing go to whoa, spear a spud..(if you are lucky enough to locate an unsuspecting shopper pushing a trolley containg this item)
.......and last but not least there's a competition to see who can bounce the credit card and get the shopping into the boot the fastest time.....first prize will be a L.H.S front door off a HR Holden that has received no less than 27....thats right 27 door dings in its illustrious career......unbelieveable but true.

Sign here..........................X

hey bobby

I have a 90 kf laser complete with door dings and hail damage and I'm thinking of joining 307's club and while I'm here I was thinking of seeing if she qualifies with you lot. She's original ...... except for seat covers and a cd player. It doesn't have a performance chip as such ........but my male spilt maccas fries on the carpet ..........does that count? Technically they're fries not chips and that should put me in the clear.

You better validate my membership quickly as the engine is original and the rings are due to fly out the exhaust pipe at any moment.

I have a GTS Monaro badge that I can liquid nail to the bonnet and I think I'll fit right in as she's Le mans red.

LMFAO!!!!!!!!
