Here is some interesting reading from the Motorsport News -January29-february 11.
"V8 Supercar teams' group TEGA looks set to be plunged into continued acrimony following the final day of offical aero testing for the BA Falcon and VY Commodore- despite the aero package being subsequently signed off by both Holden and Ford. "
"While details are sketchy, it seems some Ford teams are seeking an explanation as to how the Commodore submitted for the testing managed to affect a required reduction in front downforce (from the preliminary tests ) from 91 kgs to 72kgs without a visible change to its aero set-up."
Also in the same article:
" Adding to the intrigue are reports that HRT was sighted at the Avalon Airport test zone some days ahead of the final tests- without, it seems, TEGA authorisation. This may well have constituted a breach of testing regs. "
" A keen -eyed MNews reader was there among those who reported seeing the team at the airport, just outside Melbourne, on Friday January 10. A spokeman for the airport confirmed that the team was there on the day;
"HSV(sic)was there on that day," he said.
"The team uses the airport for part of WEGA's (Ed:TEGA's ) aerodynamic testing "
" At this point the board has no option but to accept the results and go with it - if there are to be any cars at all at the first race" commented one team owner.
" At the end of the day, we won't know really how it all stands until we turn up to the GP for the first race......."
These are extracts from the Motorsport News Magazine No.249, 29/01/03 and will be interesting to see what the final outcome will be. Hope this doesn't start a slanging match, just thought it was interesting reading. :confused:
