i have just seen some of the cc 1:18 2002 castrol cars (i dont collect cc's) and think that the wheels and tyres look much better than the biante examples (they are have camber angles and look bigger, more like the real cars. what does everyone else think?

Hi Nick,

Had a look at the CC mustang the other day. One thing I did like was the bonnet hinges. Scissor ones with springs! The BEST thing about the bonnet is that it stays up when opened. Wish the Biante ones would without having ta jam a toothpick under the bonnet :(

Also, ya turn the rear wheels and the tail shaft spins. Bit gimicky as it is a static model, so ya wont see that in action very much. And, yes, noted the camber on the wheels.

but PLEASE, Biante, PLEASE note. Bonnets and boots that stay open without added extras ARE A MUST :D

CC are Classic Carlectables. Their previous ones never had opening parts, but their new series has. Left hand drive Mustang out, and an Aussie charger due next. Very high detail and finish like biante/autoart, and around $30 dearer.

none of my c.c. buckets had anything that opened untill I aplied the TIG welder to it with great results, even the cheap paint and decals caught fire:D plus all the interior looks much more authentic and in line of what a c.c. stands for Completely Cactus ;)

Not only can't you spell, you are a wombat. I have bought cc 1.18
and find the quality in their latest releases excellent. Just because someone else has a different opinion than yours, you have no right to tell them to go to another sight, after all this is a
Biante web site not a ferrari fan forum.

I do fully agree with you;I cannot spell and have been looking forward to your "redpen" treatment to keep me on the straight and narrow.
And yes I am also fully aware that this is not a Tifosi site.
Some times it is a bit difficult to get across the right intonation ,as the written english langueish?(help) is misterious for a poor uneducated blowin ,So please be not to hard on an imported ,red coloured glasses wearing ,Wombat who is atracted to Ferrari motorcars.
where were you,I hope not on that dreaded other side:D

Sounds like F.F and C.C have some common components in drivesharts........both novelties in the eye of the beholder, made of plastic and affixed with artificial means.

I've never been a big fan of CC's they looked like a cheap plastic toy. But if you want a certain model that only CC's made well then buy one.The new models are a big improvement i've just got the Geoghegan mustang , Perkins 2002 VX in 1:18 & 50th anniversary vu ute in 1:43 all are superbly finished & gives us more aussie road & race models to choose from.I'm sure you won't hear Biante or CC's bagging each other . You should have some respect for your competition.

I thought Rob @ Classic Carlectables did a great job on their release and its nice to see other high quality models appearing in the market place monopolies only breed greed and contempt

I've said it before. My CC HQ ute is damn near Biante Quality, my Pirtek AU (2002) is 90% Biante. I have equal amounts of each brand in my collection as I buy the models that I want, not because of the trademark, & I don't look through red, rose or any other colour glasses when making a purchase.
Please keep the bias & abuse down, there's enough of it on the CC site, the couple of times I've looked at it.

We all know who makes the models for Biante, but I have been wondering, who is making the models for CC's. Are they imported or made here by CC themselves?
Anyone heard anything?

I was talking to Rob Thompson (CEO of Southern Model Supplies - company that makes Classic) last week & he was telling me that he has 8 guys who he pays to go around & check & measure the race cars (also to make some of the individual differences - DJR has a unique dash & SBR has a different air system, for example, apparently the engine air intake is off limits !!!) so that when they are designed they look right.

Rob also told me, that they use Ford's & Holden's CAD data to produce & scale down the models to their respective scales, which are approved by Ford & Holden before they are mass produced.

I am well aware that this is the Biante forum & some of us take offence of talk of CC on this forum. At the end of the day, Biante set up their forum for us (the collectors) & I believe that everyone has the right to talk/write about what ever they want, with out fear of abuse from other users. It's one of the strengths of this forum (free speach with very little abusive posts) & proberly why so many people regurally vist & use this forum.

Each to their own I suppose,

cheers.:D

After reading this discussion, I decided to look at the cc site, and I must say that the charger does look great, however have you people read the forum? For some reason it sounds a bit fake. Oh yeah, alot of colourful language too...worth the laugh! Anyway its great to see some competition, not that Biante had to lift its standards anyway, im happy with my collection, but id love to see a charger in orange! jumping the gun i know. my memory fails me...when the XA released? i thought i remembered reading thursday,FEB,something?

I belive that the standard of the CC 1:18's is now very good.
As a collectors that try's to get at least 1 of each Holden livery it's good that there is someone else making the models for the teams that Biante do not have licience's to produce.

At least they are now good enough to display near the Biante models. Which in my opinion are still #1

I came across a doz or so C.C. 18 scale Radicish Shell AU's & Longhurst Caltex AU's + 1 Monroe Pace car yesterday at a store for $14.95 each.
Good thing we all only buy these models because we love the original cars and not as an investment.

Brchi17; When people like youself are voicing an oppinion re the other brand common courtisy is always extended and never will there be a nasty remark on a wellthought out balanced remark.
when sh!*head$ are trying to winge their way to fame and fortune a flag could be waved.
I personaly appreciate Any well made model never mind the brand.
Completely Cactus thought we are all dummies and it has come around and bit everybody involved. (just ask any retailer).

As I've said many times before, with all this competition between Biante & CC, at the end of the day it is us collectors who will benfit.
cheers.
