I am trying to find information about 1:43 models of any of the following cars - the common thread is that they are Australian variations on English classic cars.
Austin Lancer/Morris Major
Austin 1800 [landcrab] ute
Austin/Leyland Kimberley/Tasman
Leyland P76
Ford Consul/Zephyr Mk1/2 ute
Vauxhall Velox/Wyvern ute [prob badged Holden
Holden Torano? [Australian version of Vauxhall Viva HB]
ANY info on pssible current/obsolete models of these car would be very welcome - little info is available here in England

Rod,
Welcome to the Biante Forum.
I'm curious ...are you a fair dinkum Pom or an ol' ex-pat ?
As to your list of 1:43 scale enquiries, I'm no expert on what may have been duplicated in diecast, but if you visit the TRAX website, you'll find many older Australian 'family' cars including the recently released 1:43 Leyland P76.
Regarding your list, the cars you mention are indeed Aussie variations on an English theme, excepting perhaps the Vauxhall product. As far as I am aware, the Victor / Velox sedans of the mid-sixties were pretty much exact copies of the English cars, and I've never seen a utility version (must be a rare beast !).
The first series Vauxhall Viva did not carry on into the second HB series; the HB of 1967 became our Holden Torana and was only available as a two door or four door sedan.

I am a "fair dinkum ol' pom" - but a lifelong car nut.
Have been drawn into Aussie variations by research into BMC/Leyland stuff - there is an excellent Aussie landcrab website - & a long held belief that the Kimberley/Tasman was a far better car to replace the landcrab than the truly awful wedge Princess that we got in the UK.
There is virtually no info in this country apart from period magazine articles & such like.
I am developing a collection of old british 1:43 models [ mainly rebuilt/modified/superdetailed "playworn" toy cars from the period - & want to specialise a bit
Many thanks for your response

Rod,
I went out on a limb and purchased the three P76's that Trax have produced and found them to be a pretty good example of a car that copped so much criticism.

Rod, try www.corgi.co.uk/vanguards or www.lledo.com for the Vanguards site. They have lots of pommy cars, including Zephyrs, Morrys, Austins etc.
