Yes, and a number of people, including me, paid $120 (sans GST) yesterday. Define "too much".
I also just found out I could've purchased a few models today for about $30 each less than I did about a month ago.
You pick the time and you buy; I rarely pick the right one.
You're lucky I'm in the States. Let me come over and randomly pick some stocks off your All Ordinaries for investment. Trust me... I wouldn't be pretty.

Zeitgeist,
I think what most people are unhappy about is that they didn't know that Biante had not released the full 12000 models, only half of them were released.
They assumed that they were all gone and paid the market price at the time.
I think there may have been a lack of understanding or communication in this instance.

Glenn -
I know people are upset about the emergence of the rest of the set. My reply was not directed at the thread creator, it was directed at the "they saw you coming" comment; as though the person who spent AU$260 was some sort of idiot.
Even after sifting out bad bidders, sold.com.au's history shows wild fluctuations for some cars. Is the person who paid the most an idiot?

well i think if someone has paid too much is called an idiot then we all must be one:D
I've done it a few times myself through being impatient and not looking around enough.
You can only do what you can do at the time - and then kick yourself later!!!

as i created this post i will explain what happened to me. Yes i wasnt aware that there more to come and i paid the $240 asking price as it was one of the only cars missing in my collection. Same as i paid $130 each for the green and mustard XU1s which are available now for around 100. but then again i only paid 140 for my 2 DJR sierras and 140 for the first greens tuff as ill also pay 140 for the latest DJR xe as well. so i spose you win some and loose some just that with the walky i spose i lost.

Where do you get you models from? I pay $130 for the street cars and $175 for the race cars - like the green XE.

talk about paying too much
http://cgi.ebay.com.au/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=2875&item=2707043181&rd=1
someone has listed on ebay a DJR 2001 AU Radisich drivers door at $600 and has a bid, DJR were selling doors in January for $150, (normally $300)
