Lexus last week took the wraps off its new Lexus LFA supercar. It has a 4.8lt V10 and goes from 0-100km in 3.7s and has a top speed of 345km. Only 500 will be built and will cost around $550,000AU.
Now before you go off about how much it costs which I'll admit is high but Toyota had to build it entirely from scratch and totally in house. Ferrari and Lamborghini already have the facilities in place so it doesnt take them as long to produce their vehicles as supercars are all they make, which they specialize in.
The Lexus LFA midway through production they decided to changee over and build it from carbonfiber instead of using aluminium. I believe they have one of only 2 carbon weaving looms in the world used to build this car.
With the styling while I'll admit it doesnt look as good as a Ferrari or Lamborghini it does have its own uniqiue style and a very good effort. Maybe it'll look better in a different color than the white that they have. The black version looks better and if you go to this site you can see some good close up pics of the car.

I believe what they learnt from building this car will filter down to their other models (FT-86) so it will only benefit the company. The exhaust note of this car is amazing its very close to the sound of an F1 car. The engine was co developed with Yamaha revving up to 9000rpm.
I really like this car and didnt see a post on this so thought I'd see what other peoples opinions. I believe this car is a bloody great effort by Toyota and people need to look past the badge and give credit where its needed :)
