fellow collectors i purchased a moffat 65e from the buy /sell/swap page.my problem is the chrome strip that runs along the bottom sill panel has come unglued from the bottom of the guard and the paint has lifted but a small piece has flaked off as well. i still have the piece but dont know what to do and i brought this model as mint condition for $575 c.o.d. you put your trust in someone and this happen's so i was wondering what you people think is c.o.d really worth it as you don't see the model until you pay for it also any suggestion's on how to fix it would be much appreciated

I have the 65E also and it was paint chipped from new and the sill strip came away from the body of the Ultra white my Mrs has plus the chrome on the outer rim of the globes are flakey....but in saying this, these were like this from new so C.O.D (if untouched) may still have a few imperfections on these particular cars but they were the very first lot of XY's.......quality now is amazing if you take a model from now and compare it to a 1998 vintage XY.
But C.O.D will always be a gamble its based on trust and if the person at the other end is less desirable in moral obligation than you'd like...you get ripped.

Personally, I would never buy privately "sight unseen" , only personally. Difficult, I know. The only non-new models I've bought have been over the net from reputable shops that have piccys on site & descriptions of condition, ie: paint 90% etc. There's still an element of trust, but far less than with an unknown individual.

Well from my experiance on buying models cod i haven't had any problems, but in saying that i was still worried about it being in mint cond the person said it was ,because there is some sad people about for a quick buck.So yeah it is all about trust.

Here's a link to a thread on COD that was discussed on this forum some time ago.

It worth a read & just be careful when dearling with COD.
