ok.. I gotta say it.. the drivers lineup for 2003 for TWR/HRO has GOT to be the worst best kept secret for the year.. I mean this one even tops Ingall's defect.. I mean signing with SBR...

first of all ya got the AVESCO site.. pretty much announces the lineup for all to see and read.. and woops.. sorry boys.. lets just take that down 2 days later AFTER every motorhead in the country has read it and questioned it all anyways..... but wait.. theres more.. hullo.. HRT website announces in big bold white type.. "BRIGHT RESIGNS WITH HRT" misprint? stuffup? fact? who knows with this lot... title says one thing.. story says "resigned with TWR" YET.. AVESCO says hes driving No2 seat to Paul Weel in Team Brock... but wait... HRT spokesperson that emailed my query back says "cannot confirm".. well I mean hasnt AVESCO already confirmed for you.. every TWR/HRO driver named EXCEPT Todd Kelly... where is the Toddster going for the year? driving HRT? KMART? what..

the other forums (V8X, Conrod) announce the launch of the 2003 TWR/HRO lineup being announced tomorrow on the 19th of February.. livery and all being launched.. but no.. we cant wait that long.. so heres this little gem from V8X today about pre-season testing...

Four new season racers hit the track for the first time today, with Stone Brothers testing the new Pirtek BA Falcon in Queensland while OzEmail Racing tested its BA Falcon alongside the two new VY Commodores of the Holden Racing Team at Winton.

The HRT has shown it will again be an early season pace setter, it's run today registering a series of competitive laps with no problems. Team spokesman Paul Weissel said the team's goal today was to 'be around the ballpark' and a series of times in reported to be in the low-23s would certainly meat that goal.

Mark Skaife's #1 HRT VY was ready to run early in the day, while Todd Kelly's new car was readied later in the morning for his first run in the red team.

pretty much says to me "TODD KELLY RACING HRT"

I mean cmon boys.. either announce it or keep it secret and tease the daylights outta us with it.. but all these other sites releasing stories like this just ruin the mood.. I think from all the various sources now we can pretty much say 100% certain that the TWR/HRO lineup has:

HRT Skaife/Todd Kelly
KMART Murphy/Rick Kelly
Team Brock Weel and Bright...

and if Im wrong.. Ill go out and buy a Ford model to add to my 1:18 collection....!!!

You are correct on all accounts.

Funny how some things just seem to find their way to the surface.

Anyway I think the line ups should be good and HRO should be in for another good season.

Ferrari Fan,

Ferrari's are pretty sweet.. so ya just never know.. but always prefered the road cars more then F1.. so maby a F40 or something like that.. only in red tho..

OH and btw for those interested.. my statement of the 19th of Feb being the announcment day for TWR/HRO launch.. has apparently been pushed back AGAIN!!!!.. the HRT site has a countdown which currently says the preview is just over 4 days away....

Move over big brother

That’s the message Rick Kelly has given his V8 Supercar sibling, Todd, as the family rivalry looks set to intensify this season with confirmation the20-year-old is replacing his older brother at Kmart Racing.

“I’m excited about taking Todd’s place at Kmart Racing, it’s a great team - one of the best in V8 Supercars, said Rick Kelly, who will drive the #15Kmart Commodore alongside team-mate Greg Murphy in this year’s championship.

“Like most brothers, we’ve always competed against each other with anything we’ve had or done Ëâ€* toy cars, motor bikes, fishing, whatever.

“It’s all about who has bragging rights and while Todd has done a great job with Kmart Racing over the past two years, I’d like to have them at the end of the year, so the competition is on, Kelly said.

Considered one of the sport’s brightest young talents, the younger Kelly has already assembled an impressive resume in just three years of racing, including the 2001 Australian Drivers’ Championship.

Kelly made his V8 Supercar debut with Kmart Racing during the 2001 season’s annual endurance races and last year completed his first full season of racing the big V8s with the Holden Young Lions team.

There Kelly won the coveted V8 Supercar Rookie of the Year title, his third rookie title in three years, joining those he won in Formula Ford (2000) and Formula Holden (2001).

“I’m proud of what I have achieved, but I’ve also been lucky to have had Todd pave the way for me right from the beginning in karts through to V8Supercars. He’s made it easier for me, Kelly said.

Rick Kelly will make his full-time debut for Kmart Racing in the V8 Supercar support races during the Foster’s Australian Grand Prix at Albert Park on March 6-9. Todd Kelly’s plans for 2003 will be announced next week.
