i thought that they were meant to be shipped on the 14th? But not sure anymore?
It's pushing it pretty close with christmas, particularly if you have to get it sent to you from your store and with stores closing over the christmas/new year period.
i thought that they had been in the warehouse for a few wks now? so hopefully can't be too far away...

As a nice touch, Biante has added an embroidered white microfibre cloth and a pair of handling gloves to the 1/18 #10. The only down-side is that the gloves must be made to fit a Chinese 12 year old. Like I said, a kind gesture but sadly a bit useless.

Awesome, Biante have really lifted the bar when it comes to the detail of their models, #10 looks great !!!

MALSCAR the post strikes are aus wide but there are the few that still go in and do overtime and not care about striking thats why the long hours hes getting.
Im an Aus Post worker and makes me crook in the guts seeing people not striking for a very good reason.Dont want to bore you with the details.

Just got 3 today and looking at you photo you have the same problem as mine,
Across the roof line there is an off white/light yello strip that Iam sure it is not suppose to be there, I opened all 3 boxes and all 3 have it?

apparently the white line is meant to be there, as that's what the 1:1 had..not sure of the story behind it, but it was put there to accurately represent the 1:1..

It's a similar story to the crooked number 10 - as thats how it finished the race.
The white line on top is where the aerial was and during the race they had to tape it down with duct tape as it became loose and biante chose to replicate it that way.

That section of lateral roof tape was on the car prior to race day, certainly evident in images from Friday's practice. The #10 car was not fitted with any form of radio communications, and observant collectors will note that only the #05 car features a "Philips" sponsor logo.
Nobody seems to have a definitive answer on the origins of the roof tape, but I'd suggest one possibility is that it was reflective tape decoration left over from the #10 car's previous race, the Spa 24hr race in August 1987.

This is a copy of the letter sent to the retailers explaining both the 'Tape on the roof' and and 'crooked number'.
Garry
We have received quite a few calls regarding the line on the roof of the VL's #10. This is in fact how the car ran at Bathurst. When the R&D were researching the car, they noticed this faint line on the roof of all the photos, so enquiries were made and the following is the explanation.
During the early laps of the race, the ariel came loose and was dangling by the cable. The car came into the pits, the crew cut the cable and removed the ariel and to cover the hole, tape was placed across the roof from gutter to gutter. This is the line you can see on the model.
Another fact is the number on the drivers door has the "0" askew. Over the weekend, the livery of the car changed at least 5 times, 3 of them on the morning before the race. When the "0" was placed on the front guard, it was placed on crooked, hence the model reflects this.
These are not manufacturers flaws on the model, but an exact reproduction of how the car raced at Bathurst and are correct to the finest detail of positioning etc. These details were also present on the 1:43 scale version of the model.
Please remember these details and let your staff know as you will be able to inform your customers the reasons why they are like that.
Thank you

Cool thanks for that. Bit different to what Biante said, but could be right. I'll have to try and find some photos from Friday practice.

You can clearly see it in a shot of the car when it went straight on at turn 2 during Friday's practice.

The tape.
So this "During the early laps of the race, the ariel came loose and was dangling by the cable. The car came into the pits, the crew cut the cable and removed the ariel and to cover the hole, tape was placed across the roof from gutter to gutter. This is the line you can see on the model." is then not the fact, but it was on the car so it's on the model so good job :)
