Just wondering if anyone else out there is as keen as I am to see this model made(in all scales)? As I have just purchased a VN commodore for myself and would really like a model of it! Now before you go on about the VN/VP thing really if we are honest it was pretty much just a facelifted version. And It says this model is part of the Brock collection and its one of a few that havnt been produced yet, so I reckon nows a good time to start!

it was on the development approved list for quite a while, but when they wiped everyones watchlist to get an idea on numbers for the 87vl's i think it was they also seemed to remove it from the entire site.....I was thinking that if perhaps we could generate enough interest in it there might be a possibility that it could get back there and we may be able to get some info about it?

Apparantly it was removed from "development approved" to not being able to find a good enough replica to model it accuratly off. Which is a massive shame and it only raced back in 94, so you would think and hope that there would be stuff out there.

well outta curiosity from a "no idea how these things are developed point of view", would it be possible to make one from finding a 94 vp that raced so they had the basic mould measurements and then using photos to get the detailing of decals etc? just wondering, is all

They could do that but then the purists that want their decals made exact and the shape and mould of the bonnet right etc etc would pick it to death like other previously released models so why bother ;)

hmm fair call rat... just a shame that its so hard to find the original car. Can you think of any VP's that made a memory of themselves, just as it'd be nice to fill in the gap from vl to vr with something!

I think the problem is - and it's probably what Biante encountered - you would be hard-pressed finding a Commodore with the VP panelwork and aerokit. Most if not all VPs were updated as some point to VR and VS panelwork, and I don't think there has been much call for them to be reverted back. Well, except for Larry at Bathurst in '96, but that was an isolated incident :)

Off the top of my head, I can't think of any VP Commodores kicking around for measurements to be taken off. Does anyone here know of any? Has the Perkins Bathurst-winning VP been restored yet?

I'm pretty sure Andrew Newton (racer of many years standing) has a genuine Brock VN/VP in fairly authentic and original nick in outer Melbourne. As with all these cars, the body add-ons are the important thing, not the signage. Most restored cars have variations on placement, colour etc from the original so you're better working off original photos where possible anyway for that part of it.

well it seems to me that there is certainly a starting point for a model there at least...just my opinion however, and im sure it will get made eventually as you say SLR. I was just curious to see if there was much in the way of interest for this model, or any VN/Vp cars at all

Sorry, I didn't go so can't say. I vaguely remember seeing pics of one also at a Brock Big Day out, but can't remember if it was before or after his untimely demise.

The VN Group A was at the memorial at Sandown from memory.
