Have to presume these 2 releases will be at sky high prices on the secondary market very shortly after release. Man they are low numbers. Be surprised if we're not reading about it here in a week or so.

All the model shop guys can expect 100's of requests for pre orders for these cars from people they've never or rarely heard from & to continue when they start to rocket up the ebay charts. Brings some more fun back to the hobby though..

William - with low numbers of 300 and 450, I am truly amazed at how you guys able to churn out these low volumes when other companies have to make 1000/1500 to make them worthwhile?

Or do you count on the fact that with the VE Mould being so expensive to produce that by producing small volumes, you are amortising the cost of the mould?

Or do you count on the fact that with the VE Mould being so expensive to produce that by producing small volumes, you are amortising the cost of the mould?

It's weird that only about 12-18 months ago we were told (by both companies), that days of runs less then 1500 were over because the factories in China wouldnt do any less. Now we are seeing both companies make runs generally 1000 or less, and in biantes case, even less then 500!

Maybe the companies can offset the cost by making as many cars as they can at once - ie - make all the VE moulds at once (all the tyres, engines, shells etc etc) - so do a large run that way, and then its only the decals and paint jobs that are a small run? It seems to be that cars are being grouped in lumps now. Look at CC - all the VE's were released in 3 wks of each other, and same with the FGs.

Maybe Biante plan to make what the can of the 2010 cars with the 2009/08 cars? Hence the early announcements and orders being asked to be made?

Then again i could be way off - lol

And thats the Issue raster - We are certainly not making 300 of them because we have orders for 5000!

As has said by Biante Staff members many times before on this forum - we make to order, so the numbers you are seeing are a direct correlation to the quantities stores are ordering.

If people are missing out, its because they are not getting into their dealers and putting orders down for these cars...

I am sure, people that really wanted the Holdsworth car have the car on order and will get their car...

Totally agree with this & the reply of others. As collectors it has unfortunatly been the reverse for many of us on certain models, when we pay rrp only to see some releases sit on the shelves having birthdays notwithstanding heavy discounting etc.

Sure a 300-450 release is not ideal for Biante yet well done for making it happen & congrats to those who have pre-ordered. No better way going forward for both the collectors & the well being of all businesses concerned than for supply to be matched to demand.

Lastly, it also gives the collectors a voice for the production of future models (as per a couple of existing threads here). If enough collectors lobby hard enough, have to assume Biante (and CC) staff will be assessing the viability of doing these models also.

Great to see the release numbers so low, but playing the devil, they arnt really star names/themes. I agree with you Bruce. If it was say a Brock,Moffat or Johnson car, people would be going crazy with anything under say 750 of each, but these guys aint huge names and the demand for them would be much lower.
Plus, no GRM model car has ever been worth more than around $200, not even the 2000 bathurst winner. I could easily pick up an early 2000's one for under $70!

Don't get me wrong I'm sure they will be great models, but do we really need them? Whats wrong with the 1:43 Trevor made? and we already have the CC XY's with opening parts. I would rather see models that havent been done, lets flog the XY again.

haven't seen one in that colour yet, and the twin set is a good idea. Id rather buy the Biante version anyday.

How about some new shapes rather than doing the same old same old. EH,HR,XD,XM just a few to start with

Do we really need the opening parts? If these cars are the same price as the other non-opening 1/43 cars, then how about just producing non-opening cars at a reduced price.

Leave the opening parts to cars that you can make the feature a useful item to display more detail. Have a look at the HPI cars, lots of very good detail that does not require this 'gimmick' to sell.

my thoughts as well , I've got a whole bunch of great Biante 1/43rds and I think these new ones with opening parts are a step backwards...
Thats the reason I asked if the 71 Bathurst winner was going to be released as a normal BRL....

Thats what I'm thinking too Lachlan...also mentioned in an XW/Y thread about a month ago was the possibility of a new 1:18 '71 Bathurst winner......

gaps around doors , bonnets and boots never look right IMHO

I agree, lets see some stuff that hasn't been made, I mean with both Biante and CC how many versions of the '71 BW do we have already have?

Perhaps Biante are to an extent aiming at the new collector with the new 1:43 scale range.... I think its refreshing and so far i've had a fair amount of interest in the XY's from those new to models.....

Agreed , I have had enquiries from new collectors regarding these cars , one chap had never even thought of collecting cars saw the picture and ordered on the spot then asked me what else was available .

Im in 2 minds with the new 1/43 cars with opening doors, firstly, I think its a good idea to have these in the model range.

Slightly dearer though makes them a bit unaffordable for some.

The cars being produced have already been done, how much can you flog a dead horse?

Once again, the cars are replicating the other brand.

Good idea as long as they are produced on models that have not been done before.

Lets see some new cars.

Just my thoughts.

I recall CC in their 1/43's had the opening bonnet for some of the XW/XYs with the basic engine... Not impressive....

i don't know what CC may or may not have made in the past, but i saw this as an answer to Trax's Opal series of cars.
