Has any of you collectors been succesful in updating the decals on the 1/18 ferrari 2001 ?
I ask this because it is a job for the ones that have done decals before and is not as easy as the models from the years before
or is it me that has lost the nack nearly?

My next question is ? will there be a possibility to put pictures on this forum and if so how do you do this ,as some times in a discussion a picture of a model is of help to forum members

anyway ,great to see this forum back up !
hopefully this will spread the message further about the exelent models that come from here ,Perth Western Australia.

I have done it. I did not find it difficult. Which decals do you use?

As for pictures, there is lots that can be done to the site, just requires the admin to install a few hacks from vb.org.

On the topic of the F-2001, is the 1:43 scale car from HotWheels out yet?

Also, where do you guys get these decals from? I'm pretty interested in getting some BAR and maybe McLaren decals too, because I buy a handful of F1 cars every year, and the non-tobacco sponsorship looks just stupid.

Yes the model is out. It has been out for about 6 months. As for decals, there are some good ones in the states, BBR do good decals as well.

It may have been out for about 6 months in the UK but over here in Australia, stocks seem to be very delayed in arriving.

I went to the shop today and they had F2001 for RB but not MS :(.

wow. You can have all the mattel models from the UK if you want, NO ONE wants them over here. They are half price in most shops, most stops have tons of them. MS and RB

I got 5 sets from Canada (Toronto motorsport) ,and found the rearmost rearwing and the decals on the air intake ,to get them right, difficult ,or may be it,s lack of practice as I did all the other ferrarimodels about twelf months ago
The site in Canada has almost all the different decals that you can want (if it is recent stuff that is ) or there is a site <shop on line in Germany
The cars look SO much better with the decals on (non Minichamps ) the minichamps models ,I find< do not have to be modified as they are actual recreations as how the car ran in a country with nontobaco livery
Happy collecting to you all
Is there any news of when or who is making the 1/18 minardie as yet ,as the sales potential here in Aus will be good ,I would imagine
Anyway in May ,here in Perth the anual modelshow is on again ,and hopefully I will be able to show some of last years models that a lot of people have not seen or missed and as always most of the people that come up to talk are very pleasant and a pleasure to meet , Please come and say hello !
so I will be giving the date for the Model Car Expo in a very short time or you can get the details in Perth at the best modelshop in town TRIKING
If there are more people that would like to display ,then join the club and become a member (quickly) and book a table ,I would like to see MORE formula one and or ferrari display,s :)

Ferrari Fan, I think the KL Minardi will be made by Minichamps as it has been done for a long time now.

MNMike...damn, I wish I could go over to the UK now. :) The thing is, Hotwheels have exclusive rights to make the Ferraris and Jordans and Jags, so I really have no choice if I want to get MS's car...I know the look much crappier than Minichamps cars and they are about the same price, but hey, what can you do when they're the only manufacturers?

yep that is true. Mattel are no way as good a Minichamps, but it is the only thing. Except BBR but they are 50x as much.

I only just got the (special )Campioni del Mondo 2000 1/43 model ,not so very long ago ,in the same packaging as the La Storia discontinued (Onyx ) range and the stupid m.r.ns have even used decals of the Barrichello car (sais so just under the camera ,and can only seen with a magnifiing glass ) but even so !
on the base it states "ferrari F1-2000 michael schumacher"
and a bid sticker ,where normaly the little booklet goes ,with a ferrari sideonview and in itailan "Campioni del Mondo 2000. aperantly a similar model and packaging has been planned for the 2001 car These models are not easy to get ,so I am told as nobody here in Aus has even seen one or knows of it's excistance
as far as I know.
I do hope that mattel will not make the same ,very annoing mistake and put the correct details and decals on the car

Ferrari Fan , I have used Toronto Motorsports Decals on both the 2001 Launch and F1 2001, the launch needed the full set of Helmet decals and the F1 2001 just the Marlboro ones . In both cases they went on very easily and I had no troubles at all. In fact I ordered some more from them so that when my layby on my world champion 2001 car is paid off I can convert them too.I only used water with no softening agents and even the top and wrap around decals on the helmets have no significant wrinkles. Hopefully they will do a Vodafone conversion to allow me to do the Melbourne GP car.

:D :D
