Great news might pop down there, and get a few things signed by the great man.

He must be doing the rounds as he was at Ford (HQ) yesterday with Dick Johnson, Steve Richards and Frosty for the 50th Anniversary of the Falcon.

Not likely Chris

He looks under the car if it's not in a box to see if it's a Biante or CC as he will not sign anything from CC.
I saw him doing this at the MCM last year.

Haha no worries guys thanks, no point carrying an extra foam box then, and i also don't want fingerprints on it, so i'll just take the Biante GTHOs:).

Cheers,

Chris

Would just like to send a big thank you out to Biante and Allan for making this happen. It's always hard to track Allan down, but nights like tonight make it easier for collectors and motor sport fans too catch up with the a great bloke. Thanks once a gain.

I too would like to add a big thanks to BIANTE for organising such an opportunity to meet Alan Moffat. Not only did he sign my models, boxes etc...Alan was kind enough to have a photo taken with myself and to chat a little about the Capri I had signed. CAMS had the Capri fitted with 10 inch rears which made it sway when cornering, what a beast of a car!

I do not need to but must mention that Alan Moffat is a true Gentleman and Champion on and off the track.

Thanks Biante and also Andrew and staff at Gamesworld (Highpoint), the guys were awesome.

I saw him doing this at the MCM last year.WELL isn't that pathetic from an icon such as him ? where does that leave new young collectors who have just started collecting who just want to be a part of the racing idols in this country. That's really sad lads ,,,,,,,,,BROCKY would never have done that ,If all we have left is an arrogant canadian as a racing legend God help motor racing in this country

Steve, he is contracted to Biante. Biante pay a percentage of each model to him. CC don't. Not being arrogant, just protecting his contract.

I realise that but what message is that sending out to young kids or new collectors getting started in the hobbie,If you where a father with young kids telling them how you used to watch BROCK,JOHNSON.MOFFAT, BOND, RICHARDS, PERKINS, BARTLET, ETC ETC ,your trying to make a crust ,trying to afford to take your kids to a race meeting ,a chance to meet an idol, you buy them a diecast that you can afford to buy[,only just,] you stand inline for ever .and the idol refuses to sign because it's not a biante ,Cmon guy's that's wrong ,IT'S all about money now isn't it? In all honesty that is not right ,,with actions like that your just pushing people away ,Like i said i dont think Pete would have done that ..bring back the 80's we all got on really well then ;)

It was brilliant to be have the great man sign a few things - i am awe struck by him and i just turned 40 - its amazing what a little hero worship can do . I picked up my present from my wife the night before ( 77 Twin Set ) so it was nice to have him sign that for me

So to Biante and AM i must also say thank you for a great night ( i especially liked the Autograph cards and thought that they where a nice touch ) , it was a pleasure to meet up with Chris and see his passion for the hobby as well as his families support

Cheers all

That's a bit rich. The guy is entitled to protect a source of income for himself. I'm sure Alan will sign any number of things that aren't model cars for people that don't have Biante models of his cars.

Apart from my cars , He signed my wife's 1k O7 book ( where he is the legend at the back ) as well as 4 of the Falcon Number plates - he was signing photos and pictures that people had with them so it wasn't just cars and he was very generous with his time ( as was Biante for organising it )

Although he did ask me if the number plates where for my wall ( no they aren't - they are for my eventual display case :p )

Times have changed. I don't know who you work for, but most organisations have clauses in their job contracts these days, for employees to acknowledge and sign for brand and product protection. I would imagine that Allan Moffat's deal would be bound by something similar. By definition, he becomes a de facto employee, when he has a promotional agreement with a company. It's not his choice in the matter. You are right, it is all about money these days. With respect, Peter Brock would probably have been forced into doing the same. I guess it's all in the way that they handle the situation.

Agree, a professional with a loyal streak to honor his contract. I am sure Biante appreciate the loyalty and I respect that in a person.

Agree, AM would be the Ultimate professional. He was the first & always the best at representing his sponsors. He is just protecting one of his income sources. Classics have bypassed several of the drivers by doing deals with the current owners of existing cars or the original manufacturers, did these people make the cars famous or did the drivers ?

actually Brock would not sign CC cars either as he had a contract with Biante(the brock collection)as does Moffat,I think it is good,Brock and Moffat will sign anything else though just not CC

I realise that but what message is that sending out to young kids I think its sending the message of doing what you are contracted for, which sadly, is not being adhered to these days and the youth of today would be better for it if they placed value on contracts.

Yes!!!

Values...a good starting point to be loyal under the right circumstances.

That's it for me on this topic as I feel that people have a right to honor their word/contract with respect and not be abused for it...good morals are lacking these days!

Here here.

Reminds me of Jerry Maguire when the little kid see a Football star in the Airport and runs up to get his trading card signed, and he says that he can’t sign that brand of card. The little kid walks away all upset…

He should take it out on CC not his (ex) supporters.

SHOW ME THE MONEY :D :D
