Look out for new Monroe Pace Cars this season in the
V8 Championship. The word is it's a German manufacturer.

I hope Biante make the 2003 SC.
Is a 2002 BA XR6 Turbo and/or AU XR8 SC's being planned as well?

What about Hurbie the love bug as the safety car ???

I hear their sales have began to stall & this may help to increase their profile amoungst the younger generation.

cheers.

"How about an Audi" - quoted from monaro

Yes, everyone give a big "Audi-dudie" to
our new German friends when in Adeliade.

It should be the only Motorcarbrand that has been and always will be the best,,, yes you Guessed, FERRARI.
This will also generate much more interest with the fairer sex and no need to drop the speed:D
The awnser is sadly though a bit more mundane as the BMW's were there for all to see at the BIG event in Melbourne.
Bayerishe Motor Werke who were manufacturers ofn aviation engines for the Luftwaffe in WW2 like Mercedes Benz,
By the way the name of the VW is HERBIE (the Lovebug)

I read in auto action that Audi as supplied a pair of 4WD V8 A6's as the safety & couse cars for the 2003 V8 series.

Good guess monaro, or did you really have some inside info ???

Althought it does make me think of the question of why there isn't a Ford or Holden leading the pack ?

Why does Audi want to do this ?

Surely the demographic of the vast majority of V8 supportors could only aspire to owning an A6 Audi, but more likely to afford a V8 Falcon or Commodore. This may be a generalisation, but I really can't see any main reason for them wanting to be a part of it.

It not like they are allowed to race in the series is it ???

Or is there more to this that Tony C is not telling us !!!

Only time will tell,

cheers.:)

Audi like to think "out-side of the square" so I guess if
it fits there advertising agender and they paid Avesco
the right kind of money then good luck to them.

Honestly, I hope we don't get to see it much, because I 'd
much rather be watching the cars at race speed and not of
the pedestrian variety.

Also Monroe are no longer sponsoring the cars, so I guess
Avesco had to plug that $$$$ hole!!!

Beacuse of the lateness of the deal
(this should be the new motto for 2003) the Audi's
will carry just the four ring logo and the Championship
logo on the side for this weekend and will be seen in full
war paint come Phillip Island. No word on a sponsor as yet.

Hopefully Avesco has put the correct Championship logo on
instead of the 2002 version which featured on many of the
cars at the AGP.
