I was looking at the DJR site earlier & noticed thefollowing notice.

Watch this space for exciting opportunities to purchase the road cars driven by Dick, Steven, Max and the DJR team, these low kilometre cars will suit any new car buyer and will be advertised exclusively on this site for the first month.

Coming soon .....A very special range of high performance cars built by DJR in very limited numbers. The team at DJR have been working to enhance the current BA XR Falcon range to deliver an XR 6 Turbo and an XR 8 to 300kw spec.

Each car will be individually numbered and hand built to order with unique DJR styling.

Now this remindes me of the early 90's where every man & his dog made a high performance Falcon of some kind or another.

Yea I can just imagine the ad they'll put in the local paper

Barra XR8, Current model low mileage, only driven on Sundays & regurally washed. Top car to drive (so the drivers say) plenty of potential. Price POA !!! :D

I just hope the Max Wilson edition come with new straight pannels !!!

Food for thought,

cheers.

hey steve

i took one (BAxr8) for a trot recently and they are very easy to drice......
clutch is light and gearbox is short. spoke to DJR and first cars (demonstrators) should be ready in 6 weeks. these are made to order but will have 18 inch wheels, brembos, leather and suede interior tricky donk and exhaust...which rumbles.

ok get in the queue

I test drove a VY S 5spd then a SV8 6spd & I found the V8 to have a much lighter clutch, which was easier to operate. Could be due to the extra torque !!!

So any ideas on what ball park these DJR Falcon will be in ???

$55,000 to $65,000 ???

Could be a cheap answer to the GTS !!!

cheers.:D

Sorry, Terrine. Should've mentioned that my Lady-Wife can't handle anything heavier than a Corolla clutch. About 4 years ago she fell in our garden and dislocated her left knee sideways to about 45 degrees. The damage was such that she only just escaped a reconstruction, & couldn't drive our manual XF without a great deal of pain. In consequence, we ended up with a younger, better, automatic EFI XF, which we kept for a couple of years, then sold it & bought our current EA auto Wagon. Just the thing for 3 kids!

So terrine,
When you inquired at DJR did you find any other details about the cars ?

Are DJR changing the body kits on these cars or are they remaining with the std Ford kits ???

Also, what about paint ???

Are the also staying std or are DJR going to do some mock race car painted versions ???

cheers.

"Each car will feature unique 18inch wheels, lowered suspension, high performance exhaust, leather and suede DJR interior and unique DJR badging. Each car will be bulit by the race team at DJR and will be individually numbered and delivered in person by Dick.

Each car will be built to order with a turnaround time of 6 weeks from date of order.

Pricing is still to be finalised but expect to be pleasantly surprised, they will represent great value.

If you are still interested let me know and we will email photo's when complete."....from their email on my initial enquiry

on speaking with steve chalker he suggested price will vary depending upon each individuals reqirements but that the basic package should be around $10k over retail.
it would appear that paint and body kits dont come into it at this stage but we will need to wait for further advice and i suppose it all depends on what a purchaser wishes to spend

The XR8's and the XR6T's will be modified to around 300KW, just remember back to the Sierra days, who better than DJR to modify those Turbos.
