just got my 08 1/43 jim beam cars and i must say the QC is pretty ordinary. there were approx 7-8 johnson and 6-7 davison cars in the shop and there were many floors. i went through them all and was at the point were i wasnt going to get them. but i settled for the best of both, but i figured there probably the same everywhere else. the wheels were out like a 4x4 and raised as well , some decals on them were blury and partialy missing. of all the biante 1/43 v8supercars i have the 96 skaife /richards, 08 johnson , davison are not the best. i will still collect though....im a tragic....http://forums.biante.com.au/images/icons/ icon12.gif

Not just 1:43s, the 1:64s, especially the BF, some have massive rear camber issues.

are the 08 1/43 jim beam cars diecast or resin ? i couldnt locate on web site.
Im in the same boat too.
It appears that all the BF 1/43s are a bit disappointing.
I'll post pics of them tomorrow.
Even the A-Tek rims on the 1/43 look like they have 5/6 studs like a passenger tyre !

My Moffat car is ok, It has camber but looks good to me, apart from a Jim Beam backing card in it, which is getting sorted thanks to this forum.
Here are some pictures of the recent 1/43 BF Biante cars.
I collect in 1/43 scale for all V8 Supercars released.
To date, the VE / FG have been pretty good with quality and camber. The tyres have sat in the guards.
However I am a bit concerned about the BFs. I went through a few at the shop and they are not up to scratch so I just took what I got. Unfortunately the tyres stick out pretty far at the back and stick out a bit at the front.
However, I would like to say that the Biante quality of the car but for the wheels beats the old CC VE/BF/FG.
I was hoping that when I took the screws out it would be better.
Fingers crossed the 1/18s will be ok!

One of the 1/43s is not a Biante!

I gotta say Edy, thats a lot of camber.
Yeah it is a lot of camber.
I am not complaining though as they are all like that.
You either put up with it or dont buy.
I bought :)

The rear wheels on the 1/43's are shocking. The Brightie car reminds me of todd kelly's car today after he smacked the wall. The underneath detail looks great though

I picked my 1:18 DJR 2007 Bathurst BF yesterday and can say that while the rear wheels do have some slight wonkyness in them, it does not suffer from the crazy wheel problems of the 1:43's.

I heard someone saying that you can actually take the rim and tyre off?
Is that right?

I would rather they spent their time getting the car right than play with the underside. I wonder why the cars seem to have gone a fair bit backwards in quality.

If they do, I have no idea how it is done. I am not game to try and force anything.
I agree with you malscar. These new Supercars seem very fragile and delicate making them prone to errors. While the complicated liveries and the many sponsors seems to result in more chances of messy paint work and weird stickering texture to the cars.
weird stickering texture to the cars.
Yes I've noticed that too. Especially with the 1/43 FG and VEs. To me, it seems that a clear coat was not applied to seal the waterslide sticker.
So if the model got wet, the sticker could potentially come off :bigcry:
Traditionally all of CC's stickers have been sealed. The new T8 2010 Vodafone chrome stickers are not sealed. In the shops I've seen some tear!

I was going to get some Jim Beam cars in 1/43, but having seen them now, I won't be getting any..

Did Biante change the companies that makes them? Remember the VS/VR 1:43s. Their wheels were too inward.
Also the Reserve Xy's had issues. 3 of the 4 I bought were faulty when I picked them up.

just got my bowe glenfords in 1/43, and its the best of the lot. its faultless, really chuffed. but how come all the fords are ordinary and all the ve's are good? not one bad ve in the latest releases , for me anyway.
For some strange reason, the 2010 1/43 Jono Webb Mother car has been plagued with some of the BF issues where the wheels have been sticking out a bit.
The other 2010 1/43 DJR cars have not had this issue. They are running A-Tek rims?
I dont know what's going on?
My model shop had 3 left so I took the best of the bad bunch.

G'day Canuck617 - here is an attempt to show the relative size of the various common scales, for the same 1:1 car. (and apologies for the poor quality photos, my excuse is only having a cell-phone camera available, but you should get the idea).
From largest to smallest, these models are 1:18, 1:24, 1:43, and Matchbox (in this case 1:59) :

I could tell that they had been checked as the coa's were all in the boxes as delivered, fine was fine .

Well here we go again, just got my 1/43 caruso/holdsworth bathurst car and well woudnt you know it, it had purple headlights. i thought this was rectified ?????
then if that didnt piss me off the 1/43 richards/mcconville car now comes without ariels , how can you justify a $10 price rise when you cant even get your current models right chris?
this car has been through several sets of hands and still no one picked it up, builder, qc , packer then repacked (by biante) and sent to me.... not good enough!

I think Biante were only rectifying the 1:18 - at least thats the only one I remember them saying had the wrong colour headlamps....must have been too late for the 1:43's? (not that I'm justifying their mistake...)

I have noticed some of the 1/43 biante are shocking at my local store
Before u go off, my Richards/McConville car had 2 aerials so you might have had bad luck.
Yes the GRM car was too late.
Did you pay $70 for the car? My shop still had them for $60 RRP

Your aerials might have fallen into the actual car through the aerial hole. I have accidentally pushed 1 through on my 2010 33 holdsworth car, so they might not have been held on strong enough.
