On the front page of the latest Community Newspaper there is an article on what was to be a fisability study into the construction of a multi purpose race track in Midland.
At a meeting in the last fortnight it was canned as the City of Swan has other more potential developments or something for the area.
Harvey Norman has already stated that they will be building a Mega Store on the current land that they are currently situated on and also demolishing the three vacant stores (an old fast food outlet, an old furniture store and a tyre/mechanic garage) and the closxure of an access road to the back of the Midland Gate Shopping Complex. This store is said to be owned by a number of parties to vrate better buying power.
Also in Midland constructions of some sort have starrted on the corner of Lloyd and Clayton Streets. From many mouths I have been told that it is something to do with the new training facilities for the Western Australian Police Service. Yet the government are screaming for young recruits to join the police service.
